Do you like Horrer Games?

Archive: 12 posts

Do you like Horrer games? If so why!? Is it the occasional fright? Is it the adrenalin rush when you get swarmed by zombies? Or is it that fight for survival that makes you keep going forward?

I've played a few horrer games before, but they were either with a bunch of friends or with the tv sound on mute

I finally got the guts to play Bio Hazard 4 by myself... and it wasn't half bad.
Although i have to watch a Disney film before i go to bed.....

I CANNOT play a horror game where you run for you life and use obstacles around you to stop the zombie hordes. I MUST have a gun in my hand to play a horror game >.< I got sooooo scared when i was playing Ashley in Bio Hazard 4.

But it's the occasional scares and the adrenaline rush and the "AHHHH! ZOMBIE AHHHH DIE!" that makes me keep coming back to the genre. How about you?

lol!

I don't like horror games, but then again I don't like horror movies either so I guess it's nothing to do with the games themselves....I just don't like being scared

i could say scaring yourself lets you know your alive.

As in:

Tension...
Tension...
Nothing...
BAM! SCARE!
"Eeeeeeeeek" *Gasp*
Cardiac Arrest!
Death.

Biohazard 4 is the same as Resident Evil 4, right?

Well, depends what your definition of a Horror game is. If you mean Survival Horror, then yes, but a lot of things could be considered Horror. RE4 could be considered Horror but I don't think it's scary at all. Bioshock could be considered Horror, there are a couple well timed scares.

I love horror games, much like I love horror movies. But I do get really creeped out playing them at night.

I use to love Resident Evil until Resident Evil 4, since 4 ruined the series as it is no longer scary.

SILENT HILL 2 (and Silent Hill in general) is the scariest and best survival horror game ever made, and it's scary on a level Resident Evil could never achieve. Gives me goosebumps just thinking about that game. It's scary genius.

I like horror games because they tend to be immersive. I haven't been scared in a game until recently in Batman AA; that has to be the most scary game for any pc gamer:

SPOILER

The bit where the scarecrow gas appears and the game freezes and fills with graphics glitches to make you think your graphic card (GTX 260 :O) has fried

Sure I like horror games, but mostly it's the psychological horror that I adore. Such as Silent Hill 2 (one of the best games ever created)2009-09-21 18:15:00

I can't play the Silent Hill series or survival horror.

I just hate that feeling of AHHH ZOMBIE AHHH! I can't defend myself! I'm gonna die!

I was able to play dead space because I had i gun in my hand, if I didn't I probably would be in my bed covers shivering in horror.

I certainly like horror games, but I play little big planet for the most of the time now, anyway...

I am only 14, but I don't get the least scared when playing Bioshock, I might jump back, occasionally, but I can handle everything the most of the time.
It is the adrealine that drives me.
Actually, nothing really scares me, if you come unseen from behind, and scream "BOO!" in my ear, the first thing I will do is to spin around fast, and then (just by pure reflex) try to hit the attacker, as I am training Taekwondo.
The only thing that scares me is total darkness, all alone (exept for when I am sleeping), but that doesn't really bother me either.

I haven't buyed Dead Space yet, but I certainly hope it's a scary one!
