Just like the title says, this is a little poll. Pretty much, just say when you got your PS3, and if you want add in what type you got, and why. I bought mine early May this year. I was getting passed by a whole lot by newer games, due to an older computer, and a brother-in-law had one, and the more I studied and used it the more impressed I was by it. Enter 40 Gig model black box. What about you? (If you're getting one for LBP, chime in, too.)

Used to be an xbox fan, but after I got the message "Full Harddrive, please delete or buy a new one to continue" I sorta got fed up with it and decided to buy a PS3, haven't gotten one yet, still trying to sell the Xbox on eBay, hopefully, just hopefully someone buys it tomarrow. I'm getting an 80 Gig, any ideas on what game I should get first?

I'm getting an 80 Gig, any ideas on what game I should get first? I'd suggest surfing through the General Video Game Talk forum. You'll find scads of various topics on the best games, and everyone has their favorites, and good arguments (mostly). Check up reviews on gaming news sites. (GameSpot's my preference.)

February this year 40GB all that was available here. (recently upgraded to 400GB) Why: I bought a whole new home cinema (Plasma, AMP, 7.1 Speakers, PS3, Xbox 360, Pronto remote)and needed a Blueray player and PS3 was the best option. Also picked up a 120GB Xbox 360 Elite at the same time to do HD DVD but then HD DVD was shelved before everything was delivered so got rid of the external HD DVD drive and added extra controller for PS3 and Xbox. I think I got mine around May of this year. 40Gb. Actually I traded in my Wii for it just for LBP. I have only 1 game right now, Eye of Judgement. The only reason I bought that was for the PS Eye. It was crazy, I either by the Eye separate for $39.99 or I buy the EOJ with the Eye for clearance $35.99. Hmmm let me think about it.

40GB all that was available here. (recently upgraded to 400GB) Nice. I read the most you can do now is 500GB with a Samsung HDD I think, only one 500GB model that fits. Anywho, I have a nice PS3 buying story, it's not too long and it is a beaut' but still I put it in a spoiler so you can read it only if you're interested You see I started wondering about buying one a little while before Assassin's creed was supposed to come out, and I also knew DMC4 would be hitting the shelves later that year, so whenever I saw a store that sold PS3s I couldn't help but take a peak, and wonder when I would finally dish out the cash for one of these. I knew I wanted the Motorstorm bundle, if only for the backwards compatibility. So one day I walk into an HMV (didn't even know they sold videogames before that day!) and I try out the PS3 demo station. Then I check it out, and it's advertised at 399$ (was 499$ for the 80GB everywhere else) so I ask the store rep, a nice looking young woman , "so that's for the 40GB with Spider-Man right, not the 80GB?" and she says, "no no, it's for the 80GB" :eek::eek: So I asked 2 other reps, all giving me the "must be a promotion or something" answer. I had one put aside and rushed home to get the cash. I get back, and get this, they scan it and it says 499$ (plus tax). BIG surprise right? So they go get the manager, and he tries to tell me it's just an error, that it's indeed 499$. As he's telling me this, he's subtly removing the price stickers from the advertised PS3 boxes loll. So I threaten to call the Customer Protection Agency, explain to him the facts are in my favour (thank you working in retail for 2 years for these nuggets of knowledge, and feel free to use them to your advantage now that you know!) and he agrees to sell it to me for the advertised 100$ less!!! So BANG I got myself an 80GB Motorstorm Bundle PS3 for 400$! :hero: And then I bought Assassin's Creed and never looked back :arg:

Yea now you can get an 80GB one for 399$, but as I understand it, it does not have backward compatibility, you have to get one of the bundles for that. I have no clue if the 160GB Uncharted bundle that's coming out has BC or not EDIT: When I got mine, it was 499$, and this was before even the MGS4 bundle was announced...

Yeah, the new 80 is the old 40 with twice the storage. I THINK the old 80 is the new 160, but I'm not sure definitely what the difference is.

August First, this year. Got it with MGS4. Only game I currently own, really. I owned Elder Scrolls 4 for a while, but it was meh. But I rented Uncharted this week, and it was VERY fun, but I doubt it would be worth paying 60 dollars for now because I already beat it on hard and the only reason to do that would be to scower it for trophies, so yeah... not too sure what game I'll be getting next though.
