Survive and collect points for as long a possible.

The theme of the level is a highly detailed bomb factory. The gameplay involves avoiding timed bombs that will progressivly fall faster from either side of the level. Its not another boring and over done bomb survival level though.

The idea of making a bomb level was never my intention. The concept came when experimenting around in the editor with springboards connected to a AND switch.

The ground area is made up of many metal springboards that detect the players proximity as well as the timed bombs, flinging them upward. while avoiding the bombs points are also dropping down.

I know how much everyone hates bomb levels now as they are repetitive and boring, but I havent seen anything like this done before. If you play the level I hope you like it

Take it from me, as I've seen the level, it's not another typical bomb survival.

Think CheesyMcFly's Jumping Castle.

I'm off to check out the final version.

Edit: Well, I'll check it out when theroommate is done with the tv.

Yeah, I thought of the Jumping Castle while playing too. Fun mini-game and not just the typical bomb survival. I liked that you made it so the bombs flew up too, would maybe be bit a bit dull otherwise. And I'm not saying it is of course, its a lot of fun. I do have a little problem with the level though, it may just be me but I find it hard to see how much time is left for each bomb because I can't always make out which way the arrow is pointing. If I were doing this I would try a little LED maybe, just a suggestion. It'd help me a lot considering half the time it seems to be a luck game.

Still though, 5 stars and hearted.

I go into the level, I'm amazed with all the detail in it, I think "I'm definetly hearting it for sure!". Press Start to begin the level and really like how the scoreboard moves to the left side. Then the bombs start to fall out, and I think "Oh great, another bomb level". I really think you should have made your own bombs like CheesyMcFly did with his level, it just felt pretty cheap to use the bombs that MM made. Nice level, 4 Stars.2009-09-21 05:04:00

I didnt want bits of debris. Also when you put them in casing it causes then to shoot others in close proximity across like a rocket. I used the mm ones as they are easy to recognise and bounce really well. ohh and i made the bombs in the background. they are actually fakes made from cardboard as real ones would be exploded by those dropping in the front layer.2009-09-21 05:20:00

yeah, I noticed that. It was a real nice touch to an already detailed level.

Ive take a lot of lighting effects out and switched the candle flames with a block made lethal using the fire tool. This has reduced the demand on the gpu to allow for a much more solid fram rate as opposed to the lage amount of slowdown prior to this alteration.2009-09-24 22:59:00

Well, that's good news. It was a bit annoying before.

Less laggy? Yay, gotta try it again! The lag was the only thing that kept me from replaying this great survival.

I've got quite an original survival concept based on auto-bounce platforms too, but now, after that you and nucelarfish (and others) have already released some quality bouncing-based challenges, I wonder if I should still build that one. I've got 9 different SC concepts on paper, so I might decide to build one of the other ones first.

As for your level: The stuff going on in the background is awesome. The idea of letting both bombs and sackboys activate the bumpers is nice. The only drawback was the huge lag, but now that you say it has been reduced, I'm gonna give it another go.

The slow down is not an issue anymore. Its much smoother and faster. This means your reactions will have to be faster now as it gets very hectic after the warning lights and alarm activate.2009-09-28 19:50:00
