Ok so I have been playing LBP for over a year now...

I think this is the longest time I played a game. Usually I play a game for 2-3 months but this... Yeah LBP is that awesome!!! | 2009-09-20 12:51:00 Author: blizzard_cool ![]() Posts: 752 |
Yeah me too. It's awesomely addictive. The only other games I've played for more than a couple of months are RPG's like FF7 and my favourite game of all time before LBP which was 'Front Mission 3' I just love the creating side of this more than anything though. It's an overused word in modern society but this game truly is a 'Phenomenon'. | 2009-09-20 12:56:00 Author: mistervista ![]() Posts: 2210 |
Me too, it will also be one year since I joined LBPC on friday! | 2009-09-20 12:59:00 Author: Leather-Monkey ![]() Posts: 2266 |
If you've been playing for over a year you're either part of Mm or Sony or a criminal ![]() The beta started on the 23rd. | 2009-09-20 13:13:00 Author: ARD ![]() Posts: 4291 |
As long as there's a dedicated community, I'll keep playing. | 2009-09-20 15:20:00 Author: EVOin3D ![]() Posts: 91 |
As long as there's a cool and active community like here and that I have fun creating, I will continue to play this game. I'm really starting to need water though. I hope this will update before Christmas. . | 2009-09-20 17:27:00 Author: RangerZero ![]() Posts: 3901 |
Me too, I have no doubt I'll be playing for another year. I'll probably still be playing it even after many of you stop, this game is too addicting. =( | 2009-09-20 18:21:00 Author: TheFirstAvenger ![]() Posts: 787 |
LBP has become more than just a game. It has somehow evolved into a kind of symbiotic parasite and we thrive upon it it as it feeds on us. It is our sustenance and our curse. | 2009-09-20 21:07:00 Author: Ungreth ![]() Posts: 2130 |

I agree with y'all. This game is simply the best ever! I wouldn't be surprised if it won GotY this year as well. I expect I'll be playing this game at least another couple of years, unless LBP 2 comes out of course! | 2009-09-20 21:33:00 Author: olit123 ![]() Posts: 1341 |
I wouldn't be surprised if it won GotY this year as well Correct me if I'm wrong, but the point of Game-Of-The-Year is to highlight the best game released that year. If GotY wasn't limited to games from that year, MGS4, Uncharted, Halo, CoD 4, etc would still be winning from some critics. ![]() | 2009-09-20 21:37:00 Author: BSprague ![]() Posts: 2325 |
I think the reason why we're all still playing this game is because of online play. If this was just making levels and just showing what you made to your friends... then i don't think much people will still be playing it ![]() But LBP is indeed a game I've been hooked on recently. When I was little I only had a handful of games so I would just play them over and over again constantly. But now since I have like 50+ games installed on my computer, I barely even finish them! But LBP holds 3rd place in my longest played games of all time. #1 is The Sims(4 years) Followed by World of Warcraft (2 years, but i stopped playing, I'm not addicted!) | 2009-09-21 09:11:00 Author: snowyjoe ![]() Posts: 509 |
Lbp is a game that will stick with us all but i must be honest. I got the game for christmas and i'm still playing. (I got my PS3 on christmas eve) but i have played games for much longer. Shadow of the collosus. Final fantasy 7. Oblivion (which i have completed on PS3 and XBOX) so although i have 100's of games i do continue to play many of them. I'm still playing MGS 4 and i completed that on december 27th. | 2009-09-21 09:45:00 Author: robotiod ![]() Posts: 2662 |
LBP is pure genius. I mean there's always new levels to play, and even many older levels that are still fun to play for various reasons. Plus many other things to do creative wise with friends or alone. And the game can cover genres other than platforming since the people create it. And so many other things I can list. With the strongest community in gaming, as well as a game that reaches out to the widest audience that I think is possible for a game to reach, LBP is the greatest game ever made, even if it's not your favorite. You can't deny what it is. It is a beautiful thing, and the greatest thing ever created in the gaming industry. It is a prime example for the future of gaming, and the key to longevity in a game. ![]() | 2009-09-21 16:30:00 Author: Unknown User ![]() |

Yes!!!!!!!!!!!! I've hardly played any other games for the past year. LBP will last a lifetime! ![]() ...Okay, maybe not, but I'd say this game has got at least another year left on me, if not more ![]() It really is pretty amazing. | 2009-09-21 22:20:00 Author: hilightnotes ![]() Posts: 1230 |
I've been playing the first Crash Bandicoot game since around 1998 (I was like, 5, but still) and I still play it on a weekly/fortnightly basis. Beat that, LittleBigPlanet. | 2009-09-21 23:23:00 Author: alexbull_uk ![]() Posts: 1287 |
Oh God, don't remind me. Yes, it has been that long. That's depressing to me. Where did this year go?? It's going to be sad actually, as exciting as the upcoming holiday videogame season is, it means way fewer people are going to be playing LBP. There may be a bit of a spike in new players as younger gamers get the game for christmas, but a lot of people are going to be spending time on all the new stuff coming out right around the corner. Last year, I remember October hitting and it was a sudden slew of games I couldn't pass up. Guitar Hero World Tour, Fallout 3, LittleBigPlanet, all at the same time. I had also picked up Bioshock around that same time, and not to mention Dead Space coming out. Now it's going to be Uncharted 2, Bioshock 2, Modern Warfare 2, Brutal Legend, Assassin's Creed 2, Left 4 Dead 2... Wow, crap that's a lot of sequels... and a lot of shooters. ![]() Thank God for Brutal Legend. | 2009-09-21 23:35:00 Author: Teebonesy ![]() Posts: 1937 |
I know once Final Fantasy XIII comes out it will pull me away from LBP and I'll have a long absense. That's a garunteed fact since everytime a new Final Fantasy comes out I get absorbed and remain absorbed until I get that perfect save/file, as in leave no stone unturned, not even easter eggs. But afterwards I'll be right back into the glory of LBP. | 2009-09-24 00:38:00 Author: Unknown User ![]() |
@Teebonesy Yes there are alot of games coming out but I expect LBP has alot of stuff coming in the coming months, like water and OC, maybe Play, Create, Share points? Pleeeeaase MM? | 2009-09-24 00:54:00 Author: olit123 ![]() Posts: 1341 |
LBP is definitely a game with long-term power. I tend to think of it as an MMO in that regard. In fact, my very first project won't even be done, most likely, until early next year (by January, I hope). And there's no visible end to the MM content we get ... all of MM works on LBP, it's not something they're going to stop making new content for. It's hard to classify LBP using traditional simple game classifications, but as far as longevity goes, I think it's fair to think of it as an MMO. Yes, also like MMOs, the player base will wax and wane, largely around when "expansions" are released ("LBP 2"), but I don't expect MM to be moving onto experimenting with a new untested property when they can milk this cash-cow indefinitely. (Some new stickers we just got from an artist and a new soundtrack we just took the recording of from a small band? - everyone hand over cash now, we'll talk again in a couple weeks) | 2009-09-24 01:12:00 Author: Jagrevi ![]() Posts: 1154 |
There are no other games I have put this many hours into. Some people may play RPGs or MMOs or maybe Call of Duty 4 this much, but LittleBigPlanet is really in a class of it's own as far as concept goes. At heart, it's a platformer. It's so much more than that in it's full breadth and scope though. I'm almost certain I'll still be creating and playing for another full year from now, especially with the amazing support we get from Media Molecule. ![]() | 2009-09-24 01:17:00 Author: BSprague ![]() Posts: 2325 |

That being said, after I finish with what I'm creating now, I'm going to be taking a break from creating anything "serious" for a few months. It's almost a year I've been working on my very first idea. I think GruntosUK also mentioned that after the series he's working on, he'll be taking a break from "serious series". Although I'm pretty sure wexfordian is actually just a computer program, so I don't think it'll ever stop producing magnificent AI-crafted levels. | 2009-09-24 01:22:00 Author: Jagrevi ![]() Posts: 1154 |
It's the perfect game in my eye's. I love lbp more than music and i use to be a music addict. | 2009-09-24 01:23:00 Author: PurpleAddiction ![]() Posts: 119 |

That's a garunteed fact since everytime a new Final Fantasy comes out I get absorbed and remain absorbed until I get that perfect save/file, as in leave no stone unturned, not even easter eggs. But afterwards I'll be right back into the glory of LBP. Oh God, not another Final Fantasy! I loved #7 and completed it twice over, but as the series has progressed (regressed?) it's become the biggest annoy-fest ever. There are quite simply too many important weapons, items and even characters that cannot reasonably be obtained without the help of a guide book or some serious fluke. Like the Leviathan esper in #8, which unless you made 100+ attempts to steal off a certain boss and got lucky, you wouldn't even know it was there. I was furious when I got half way through the game and found that I had an esper missing, only to consult a guide and discover that it was now completely unobtainable. This ruined the experience for me, so I actually just ended the game right there and never went back to complete it. There have been way too many cases like this in recent FF games, and FFX-2 really took the pish. (I wanted to just kill Cid by the end of his "investigation") And as for that bloody Chocobo race. Aaaargh! Oh, and the endless days of grinding, grinding, grinding... I'll take Shadow Hearts: Covenant over Final Fantasy any day of the week. With a minimal degree of tedious grinding and no major items that you can't go back for at some point, it's a much more enjoyable experience IMO. I really can't see how Final Fantasy could appeal to anyone but extreme masochists these days. | 2009-09-24 03:14:00 Author: Ungreth ![]() Posts: 2130 |
