Lifespan

Archive: 10 posts

It's morning and I've not checked out the creator name. I can't remember. I can update the thread a bit later. I can't remember if this level is on the cool pages or if I found it by accident but I believe it shouldn't be hard to find. Look for a fetus on the patch icon. The level is called lifespan and it'll give you goosebumps/tears. This is a special level.2009-09-20 10:45:00

I played it twice and it broke both times, rendering me unable to finish. It's a nice idea, but in it's current state, too buggy.

On the other hand, my friend didn't experience any problems, so maybe I just got unlucky?

Oooh the ending brought me to tears, I especially liked the use of that song at the end. Really added to the atmosphere. 2009-09-26 12:11:00

Does anyone know the author? Searching "Lifespan" doesn't bring up any results, I assume its because the search engine has been acting strange lately.2009-09-28 01:44:00

I couldn't find this on search either, but I just got it from a hearted list. It's by Kaiju_Kid.

I shall play it when I feel emotionally prepared for trauma.

Thanks to Tig-W, I found the level and got to play it. While nothing stood out on it, I did get chills at the end as well. Good level overall.2009-09-29 20:26:00

I know the author.... ME! Kaiju_kid ! I just joined the forum today, and someone alerted me to this thread. I just wanted to give a little background on the level. Initially, I wanted to make a level that took you, well , through an entire Lifespan. Starting right from birth, literally, then on to to toddler, teen, adult, senior and then death. I actually was going to have the player fight the grimreaper for their own life as the end of the level. If you've played the level, you know it kind of took a whole different direction. You see, 90% into the level, when I got to the part about facing mortality, I began to think about my mother whom I lost when I was 18. That was 20 years ago, but you never ever forget... I began to think that it was more important to think about those you've lost and how they continue to live on, lonnng after death. They never really leave you, only this corpeal world. The level then turned into a celebration of life, instead of the grim finale I first invisioned. I think I'm the not the only person who feels this way, and this level has taken, if you will, a life of it's own for those who are open to a message.
