| I am guessing (as I've not actually used this technique to enlarge an object - only to shrink it)m that they were emitted permanent (infinite lifespan), then re-captured. With an emitter, you can change the size of an otherwise non-resizable object or beyond the original parameters of how large (or small) is allowable. But this is just a guess.
