Yeah, dawesbr's a pretty sharp guy. Remember that Einstein wasn't the smartest guy in the world, he just came up with some interesting new physics theories. There's apparently some lady who rights riddles for a magazine that has in IQ of like 250. I wonder how socially inept she is.

Anywho, special talent...

I have a large capacity for remembering things when numbers are involved. I suppose it makes sense that I'm working towards a math degree, eh?

I can play the saxophone. It only took me 1 1/2 years to master. I can also:
-Sail boats
-Make farting sounds with my eyes, ears, hands and chest (O_O&apos
-Impersonate famous voices
-Sing & Act
and... suddenly do something stupid. For example, I dropped my camera in the fountain at Central Park ^_^'. I've also eaten a Coca-Cola drenched cheese nacho mixed with a slushie. Uggggh, that was nasty.

I can do mostly everything on this (http://www.beastskills.com) website.

I can also say "supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" in gibberish.

Oh ya, and probably the most important one, I have a good photographic memory. Give me a book page and 10 seconds, I'll be able to recite the book page back to you with my eyes closed. I also know pi to a couple thousand digits.

Ironically, I have a terrible memory (with names, verbally told dates, what I had for breakfast, etc. )

I can read people, through their emotions and body language, as well as vocal language, and I have excellent eyesight. I have advanced phtographic memorty and I am capable of advanced scientifical and theoritical thought.

I thought this might be a 'pat your own back' thread, but it's actually interesting!

My 'talent' is in music. I'm 26, and have been playing drums for 23 years. I took lessons for 15 years, and now have been teaching drum lessons for about 3 years as a side job. Also, because everyone I know has been bugging me, I signed up for the Guitar Center Drum Off (http://gc.guitarcenter.com/drum-off-2009/). So, this Thursday (9/24/09) I get to do a 3 minute drum solo at a local store, and hopefully if the judges are nice I will move on to the next round. I probably won't know if I won the store or not for a few weeks (there are 29 other drummers competing at this store). But if I do win the store, then I go on to districts, then hopefully regional, then hopefully national - but that's dreaming. I'm really in it for the fun of it, but I am not looking forward to being in a room full of 29 egos all thinking they are the best ... that's typically the mind-set of a drummer, at least from my experience If by chance my solo gets recorded, I'll post a video up on youtube so you can check it out.

160! That puts you a couple standard deviations beyond the normal IQ.

Dude, that's awesome.
Which part, the weight-training exercise thing, or the photographic memory thing? I think the weight-training exercises are much cooler, but having a photographic memory is so much more useful. It's why I graduated valedictorian.

What I said was an estimate, but there is no way the highest is 144. Most people in my school are 120+ (Average of around 130/40. It's a smart school). World's highest IQ is c. 200.

Right, my many talents.

First of all, I live with a small touch of autism. Explains how all of these developments came out, really.

So, whatever. My most impressive talent has to be beatboxing - I can lay down a bass and drum beat fairly efficiently. I can also program music trackers (who needs playing skill when a computer can do it for you?) and can make a killer Wookiee noise (it sounds like the real thing!)

Also really good at making cartoonish voices. Been thinking about working as a voice actor or a radio DJ. It'd be funzies.

No, I'm too lazy to have achieved anything

However, you may get my dad's. Seriously.

And oddly enough, to add to SLS's point, I have ADD. For some reason most of the smartest people I know have some sort of chemical deficiency or type of Asperger's or Autism. What do they call those? Savants? Rain-men?

Yeah, anyways, it makes me feel good to think, "Wow, I'm the school's top class (The Gifted) and I have ADD! Imagine if I didn't have it, what I could do!".

I am double-jointed, i can roll my tongue, roll my "R"s, draw portrait and landscape, rather good freestyle wrestler, mildly well dancer, great singer in my own head, can break a nightstick on my knee, can bite my shoulder, lick a window, count to Pi, talk the devil into drinking a frozen daiquiri and ask for seconds, and can tell you to go to **** and you look forward to it.

I just wrote a 4-paragraph post that got an error message and was lost to the ages. The main points were:

ADD can sometimes equal intelligence/talent (eg, human calculator (who can work out things like 98^19 in seconds), eidetic memory guys (who can draw whole cities down to individual windows after a five minute fly-by), etc.) I think this is "Savantism"

Another talent of mine is writing ability, as I can power through any writing task without pause for thought (eg recent english homework, I came top of class and did it in an hour less than anyone else), though I suppose this is down to high IQ.

As for the high IQ thing, food for thought; is it a talent? Or is it not? Or is it many talents (eg quick mathematics, can work out strategies in card games and board games, can write flowing prose, etc.)?

And finally, any synaesthesiacs out there? (People who have two or more "linked" senses (eg they see sounds as colours, or they hear smells as audible noises))

I can do this as well, but only with my right foot.

I started riding motorcycles at 3, used to be a champion 50cc MotoX rider at five and six, then moved onto 60cc where I was sponsored by a few people and made the british championships. An extremely bad crash put me off that, but I still ride them now.

I can also play guitar. I played in bands in my teens, I think the most successful still has a website up, Atomic Flowers (http://atomicflowers.20m.com/) (it's shockingly bad, but the other guitarist did it, I made a much better one but thats now long gone). Thats me second from the right, 12 years ago lol!!!!

I wish I still had that hair now.

eeh, Atomic Flowers rocked back in the day, but that was before they sold out.

Once all the preps and idiot kids started listening to them and the rock stations started blasting them all the time, they started sucking.

I saw them at like, their second gig ever. I was one of their earliest fans, man. They betrayed me.

But yeah, they rocked back in the day.

I don't know if these are talents or not, but I write comic books, animate, play guitar, sing, take photos, make puppets and make video game sprites out of perler beads.

I posted a thread about that stuff here. (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=t=16872)

I suppose they're more hobbies than anything, as I'm not exceptionally good at any of them. But I do enjoy 'em!

And I've seen that website of Grant's band before a little while ago. Teenage Grant is awesome! ^_^

BRING BACK ATOMIC FLOWERS (i almost wrote Automatic Flowers)

Edit: And Kratos, your photography is definitely quite a talent. You're phenomenal at it!
