So about a week ago I got into the MAG beta. I went into it, just to check it out since the beta wasn't open yet. But I couldn't because the developers decided to make me download TWO FREAKING GIGABYTES of updates when the game itself was only 300 mb. So a week later, which is today, I was excited to finally be able to play the game. I turned on my PS3, went to MAG, and guess what? It's making me down THREE MORE GIGABYTES of updates. Looks like I won't be playing this game for another week...

I'm pretty sure that the 3GB update replaces a lot of the data of the 2GB one so it won't actually take up 5GB of space but yeah, it's a reflection of the massive installs we'll have to endure when the game comes out.

Do you think that's what it will be like when it comes out? Or maybe everything will be on the disc with only 500mb updates at most? Otherwise that's a huge pain.

I dont think there will be any updates when the game comes out I just think they used the update feature to make sure it is working when the game comes out. that 2gb that you first downloaded was the game and the 300mb was jsut enough to get you to the point so that you could download the patch. Its silly to think the game is only 300mb when we downloaded the second update back in the private beta it gave us a new map and faction. I think the beta in all is 5gb not just an update otherwise that would be a wasted Blueray disc for only 300mb. hope that makes sense.

This is like the 4th time I've had to download an update. They take forever, this one's been downloading for about 2 hours and it's only 50%. Oh well, this game is awesome so it's worth it.
