Mini-game Land (Level in progress. Need ideas.)
Archive: 22 posts
Hello all! I am currently in the process of creating a mini-game level and I would love to have some mini-game ideas. I am going to put a total of 15 different mini-games in my level. If anyone has some suggestions that would be great! 8^) (So far I only have 5 mini-games done.) | 2009-09-16 18:54:00 Author: theonlybub Posts: 690 |
This sounds like an excellent idea. Gameplay is what it's all about... and fitting a bunch of really fun things to do one after the other is a great recipe. | 2009-09-16 21:01:00 Author: CCubbage Posts: 4430 |
Thank you so much! I am running dry of ideas though. Do you have any suggestions? | 2009-09-16 21:28:00 Author: theonlybub Posts: 690 |
Perhaps do it in the form of Warioware or the flash game Grid16? | 2009-09-17 00:53:00 Author: Sunrise_Moon Posts: 469 |
^^^ Those are not the type of mini-games I am trying to make, but I will keep that in mind. It sounds like a good challenge. Thanks! | 2009-09-17 17:14:00 Author: theonlybub Posts: 690 |
Your welcome! Are you meaning mini-games like little survival challenges? In that case I can easily see you making a minigame where sackboy gets in a jetpack and controls a miniship and grabs to shoot asteroids coming from an emitter or two. When an asteroid reaches the ship sackboy is in...BAM! And don't forget to include point bubbles dropping inside the ship! | 2009-09-17 17:25:00 Author: Sunrise_Moon Posts: 469 |
That sounds like awesome, fun to make! Thanks for the great idea! I will work on it when I get back from camping over the weekend. | 2009-09-17 17:48:00 Author: theonlybub Posts: 690 |
Wow, i'm making a very similiar level too! For minigames, you can see some videogames, like Wario Ware Good luck for your level! | 2009-09-17 17:53:00 Author: Dante95 Posts: 504 |
Maybe give a list of the minigames you have already. It may help in thinking of some other games that fit. | 2009-09-17 18:13:00 Author: CCubbage Posts: 4430 |
Well any mini-game will fit. I am just putting in a bunch of random things into the level. Right now I have: R1 pressing mini-game, Mulitiplier run, car race; one car lol, jump challenge, brain jump, and that is it so far. I still have over half of my thermometer left. | 2009-09-17 18:29:00 Author: theonlybub Posts: 690 |
How about pulling a platform back and forth to bounce floaty (the kind that floats down) up in the air to prevent it from landing? When the floaty touches the platform, it pops it back up. You can keep emitting a bit more and more floaty. The points keep counting until one touches the floor. | 2009-09-17 18:32:00 Author: CCubbage Posts: 4430 |

You can keep emitting a bit more and more floaty. The points keep counting until one touches the floor. That is an amazing idea! I already have all the mechanics of it planned out in my mind! Awesome. It seems so simple to make! I can make each floaty a different color and have the point bubbles come out in different places. I can make that as soon as I come back. Then I will start on the other idea i got from Sunrise_Moon. I will be sure to put in a text that gives credit to the users who gave me the idea. Thank you! | 2009-09-17 18:41:00 Author: theonlybub Posts: 690 |
Have fun mini games that are survival challenges... no one really likes the "put the colored keys in the colored holes" mini games much. Do some mini games that takes a lot of skill and almost impossible to completely beat to the end... when they die they move on to the next one! | 2009-09-17 23:15:00 Author: chezhead Posts: 1063 |

I have mini-games that will be easy to beat and some that will be hard, so that those mean n00bs who rate 1 star will rate more. 8^) | 2009-09-18 02:52:00 Author: theonlybub Posts: 690 |

A flinging wheel where you can get in multiple 'basket's and get points, increasing in distance? Getting chased by the sun in a meadow while everything burns to a crisp if you don't run fast enough (think the Skulldozer, but EPICER.)? | 2009-09-18 23:13:00 Author: TheMarvelousHat Posts: 542 |
A cannon ball shooting game, where you select angle and power based on skill. the aim is to get the cannon ball as far as possible. | 2009-09-21 04:46:00 Author: SteveBigGuns Posts: 423 |
Thanks to everyone who posted. I am going to draw out all of these mini-games before I make them so that I know what I want it to look like in game. Thanks once again! | 2009-09-23 05:52:00 Author: theonlybub Posts: 690 |

If I ever think of a way to make my LittleBigMemory level more efficient, I'll give you the contraption to add as a mini-game. As of now, it takes up about 60% of the thermometer, with all of the effects taking up another 35%. I'll figure it out eventually. | 2009-10-02 11:32:00 Author: BSprague Posts: 2325 |
