Seriously. I just bought Need For Speed SHIFT and my reaction is: WOW. The game is back at being about RACING. First great Need For Speed game since Hot Pursuit 2. GO PLAY THAT NOW. The game is serious but if you put assists and stuff (the options are extremely well-made), you're still in for a blast. .

Really? Wow, your impressions on the game are actually making me want to race to the store and buy it, I always felt like NFS would never get back on track. Is it really worth the money? Any really good gameplay videos anyone can send my way? For videos I suppose that gametrailers.com is your friend. Anyways, it's when you play the game that you feel how great it is. First off, now it focuses mainly on Gran Turismo types of racing (my fav type) and there's also some supercars and those IMSA looking racing cars. There's no fast and furious bullcrap and it's all close tracks. (and real tracks). The game is develloped by the guys that made some of best sim racers on the PC side, GTR and GTR2 and honestly, Shift feels similar to GTR2 so if you like that, don't hesitate. The options and settings (also tuning) is VERY detailed like you would expect for a serious game. You can also adjust the deadzone and sensitivity for all your controls. The cockpit view is amazing too. So far this game is my best bet until GT5. I mean, especially if you don't have a 360 for Forza I strongly suggest you play Shift. .

Sorry for bumping this, but i felt5 NFS undercover was a huge let down after getting NFS pro street. I might just buy this i'll see on gametrailers or something.

I will, however, play a solid arcade racer any day of the week. *coughBurnoutcough* Also, I feel that I must say that the first Need for Speed Underground was a pretty good game. *raises flame shield*

In my opinion NFS SHIFT looks all too similar to DRIFT. And DRIFT IS THE RACING GAME. You cannot live with any other. And apart from DRIFT i only like street racing so I'm sadly gonna give this NFS a pass.

As far as i can see, Shift is like Forza, with less cars, worse tracks, worse physics and worse online.... If it had come out a month earlier i would have been interested. but for Racing especially online, you need Forza....

I bought them both together with FUEL and BATMAN (so now I reached 67 PS3 games... ); anyway, the controls of SHIFT do not satisfy me completely (after setting the deadzone and so on...), the car feels too nervous, if you know what I mean, and the other drivers seems to have always a better grip on the track than me (expecially in the head to head races, nearly frustrating even in the easiest difficulty). All in all it is a 7 over 10 imho; the king of the serie is still underground 2. If you have to chose among Shift and Dirt 2, well, they are different BUT Dirt 2 rules. As usual you can PM me for a better, more accurate and ''language-friendly'' opinion... XD

They also ram you as soon as they can and as much as they can. It's really freaking stupid. The online and the driving itself saved me from selling this game. What this game is doing great is done really great and what this game does bad its done apocalyptically bad. .
