Coxy, I notice you didn't mention the Legend of Zelda at all in your comment in the submissions thread, even though the wolf is Link in wolf form

Also, unless there's someone who doesn't submit, I KNOW I'm out this round. Shoddy work by me.

Thanks for posting everyone- I'll try to put up the results page today seeing as I have yet another Snowday!

edit: for those of you who don't know what a snowday is: a snowday is where school has been canceled due to the snowy weather!

I may not be able to enter this round. I guess it depends on how much homework teachers give tomorrow. I've had a lot of (good) things happening in my life, but unfortunately there really hasn't been time for making sigs. Sorry I haven't judged yet- I will have the results up tomorrow when I get home from school. Obviously rseah and Coxy made it to the final two. Congrats guys. Round three will just be create-your-own TWO SIGS from scratch and they have to be opposites. They have to be contrasting in some way. Be creative, and use your best techniques because one of you will be the next Sig Contest Champion!2009-11-12 00:51:00

Remember you have to make TWO sigs that contrast each other for the finale. Look up a few posts because I posted all the info there for the most part!

First of all, I want to thank all of the contestants who entered The Sig Contest V.6! It's been a spectacular game, and I am proud and thankful of all of you for submitting your works of art and allowing me to nit-pick them! This finale round was very intense and it was basically a tie. Where rseah had a few flaws in the Theme, Coxy224 made tiny mistakes in other categories, laying them on an equal playing field. I had to look back at some of the previous works to make my decision. Check out the feedback and scores given at the results page (http://www.freecrm.x10hosting.com/lbpc/sig_contest.php?id=35).

Congratulations to our winner of The Sig Contest V.6, and the host of The Sig Contest Round 7!:
rseah! Congratulations. I have been impressed by your sig-work since the beginning of this contest. You are a skilled sig-maker and I thank you for joining this prestigious contest. As winner, you will receive all of my XP! Great work, I know you will be a great host of Version 7, so good luck, have fun, and stay classy!

Special thanks to our runner-up, winner of Second Place in V.6:
Coxy224. You have become better and better at sig-making, and without a doubt, I know you will win a Sig Contest in the future! You have been dedicated to the Sig Contest for a while now and I thank you for that. You are a great kid, a great artist, and have a lot of potential! Sorry V.6 wasn't your win, but hang in there. You have the talent, you have the passion, persevere through!

Thank you all so much for being apart of The Sig Contest Version 6. I hope you guys had fun, sorry if I frustrated any of you with my "picking order" of themes, etc. I had a fantastic time hosting and I expect all of you talented folks out there to apply for The Sig Contest Version 7 I'm sure it will be amazing

--It's been a pleasure getting to know you guys and if any of you guys want to keep in touch via facebook, send me a message and I'll be sure to send you it.

Adios,

edit: rseah- I sent you the format but i think it got posted wrong. Just follow the same rules that I have.

I'll explain it once again. Sorry this is so confusing for everyone:

rseah had a PERFECT score for each sig minus the theme. Coxy had some faults in categories (including a minor one in the theme) which I canceled out basically because both rseah's and Coxy's problems were borderline equal. Understand so far? So, I looked at previous works and rounds (as any judge should do when judging the finals) and noticed that rseah constantly ranked within the top (a few more times than Coxy did) so I took that into consideration when judging. If a contestant managed to squeak by into the top two with average sigs but happened to have a magnificent sig in the final round, I would (and I hope you would too) take into consideration the effort and scores received by both finalists when judging(which by all means is not the case with Coxy or rseah, they both deserved to be in the final two. But do you get where I'm going?). I understand that it seems strange, but this is how I processed the situation and I'm sorry if I upset people.

I quite agree. Coxy scored 196 and rseah scored 194 in the final round, how is that a tie?

I'm not going to explain it again. Read what I have posted and take it into consideration. I didn't expect this to be such an uproar. By all means I was not biased in judging or "payed off" by rseah when judging the results.2009-11-28 22:44:00

Thanks... Do you understand my reasoning though?

Erm NO I don't understand at all.

I'm not going to comment on the actual sigs because I know nothing about stuff like that or how it's done but I'm sure they were all excellent.

I feel I must comment on the result though because from a neutral standpoint it just seems wrong. To me it seems perfectly simple. Each round was scored separately and the one in last place eliminated each round if I understand it correctly so on that basis each round was judged on it's own merits.

That being the case when you then awarded points in the final round and Coxy scored 2 more points than rseah ( no offence to you rseah I just like to see fair play in everything ) he quite obviously WON. You can't then just turn round and say 'Oh that's a tie' when it clearly isn't. If you do that what was the point in awarding scores in the first place?

I think you should do the honourable thing and just admit you made a mistake.

Probably the fairest option now would be to call it a draw and split the XP between them as it wouldn't be fair to rseah to tell him he'd won and then take it off him. Then ask them both who wants to host the next one and let them sort it out between them. That's not ideal for Coxy seeing as he actually WON but it's better than winning and being told you lost !!

I think everyone would think more highly of you if you did that rather than leave LBPC on a sour note.

I absolutely agree with everything you said mrvista.

I mean no offence to you either rseah and the last thing I would want is to upset you Graham but I can't help feeling this was extremely unfair.

Well Graham's petty much gone now, so I'll have my say.

Ok, I felt I won - I got a higher score - but Rseah's started hosting the next sig contest and I don't want to take that away from him. Also, his sigs wee beautiful and if he didn't win this one then he was bound to win one soon.

As Graham said earlier as well, he is leaving and so all his remaining XP was to be given out at the end of this contest. I don't have a great need for XP, and winning was all I really wanted. Ok, I didn't win - but congrats to Rseah because he did and as I said I don't want to take anything away from him.

A last thing you should know is that Graham did send me about 1500XP before he left as a thank you for being his friend and participating in this contest. I felt that was more than enough for someone who didn't win the contest.
Whatever reason it was I didn't win, I didn't...and so I've just got to keep on going and win the next one I guess.

Thanks. I think your post shows great strength of character and maturity (sorry, hope that doesn't sound patronising). Also sportsmanship.

You and rseah both produced fantastic work! I think we can all understand how you must be feeling (and rseah too) but your actions will help to ensure that the Sig Contest carries on in the friendly way it always has and it would have been such a shame if it had fallen apart now. The very best of luck in the next round. I'm sure a lot of people will be rooting for you!

And I'm sure you'll make a great judge Rseah. I'm just going to have to try extra hard to win this next one. Seven sig contests with a win would just be unacceptable!
