If you have two monitors or computers or whatever, post them all! Here's mine. http://fc08.deviantart.com/fs27/f/2008/064/f/6/Aperture_Science_Wallpaper_by_Blacklemon67.png By the way I did get it before the Ampature Science Trilogy came out. | 2009-09-15 00:29:00 Author: chezhead ![]() Posts: 1063 |

Lol, I love both portal and LOST - nice! I'll give you a screenshot, as most people are shocked at the absence of any desktop icons...it just feels cleaner to me. I made the wallpaper in photoshop ages ago... http://img7.imageshack.us/img7/263/desktopsb.jpg Edit: I guess the cat's-outta-the-bag regarding my name ![]() Second monitor (warning, very large): http://img16.imageshack.us/img16/130/treeb.jpg | 2009-09-15 03:31:00 Author: comphermc ![]() Posts: 5338 |

Wow really nice wallpapers! That's pretty neat that you go icon-less. I should try that ![]() Right click on the desktop > Arrange Icons by > Show Desktop Icons [uncheck] It's quick and you can try it out for a spin without deleting all your icons (and it hides the recycle bin, which cannot be deleted). | 2009-09-15 03:53:00 Author: comphermc ![]() Posts: 5338 |
I use a Mac so it's a bit different ![]() If anyone knows how to do that on a Mac though without deleting icons that would be nice though. Although I only have a few icons already. | 2009-09-15 03:58:00 Author: hilightnotes ![]() Posts: 1230 |

Are you using alienware or just the theme? (looks like the invader theme here (http://www.alienware.com/community/alienguise/theme-manager.aspx), but I thought it was only for PC. Or are you just using objectdock [or rocketdock?] to make the dock?) | 2009-09-15 05:01:00 Author: comphermc ![]() Posts: 5338 |

Just the theme, and yes I'm using an objectdock, though I hid it for the screenshot, to make things look cleaner. ![]() | 2009-09-15 05:12:00 Author: Whalio Cappuccino ![]() Posts: 5250 |
Yeah, I had objectdock for a while, but I'm not sure why I ever got rid of it. I actually had a nice themed one that went well with the stuff I've already got (transparent aero stuff). Ever looking for other themes, check this site: wincustomize (http://wincustomize.com/). Deviantart has also got some good stuff if you don't mind wading through mediocrity to get to it. I used to scour the internet for themes and customizable stuff, but I eventually settled on what I've got now, and I've had it for over a year now. Edit: check out this guys' stuff: Link (http://yingjunjiu.deviantart.com/gallery/#Desktop-Themes). I want that Zing premium theme, but can't justify $6. Edit2: Jeez, this is bringing back all sorts of memories of my customization days. I dabbled in making my own themes, but just couldn't commit to one. The only thing I ever made was a trillian skin (replaces AIM). Will add a pic of it in a sec... Here we go. Don't even want to think how long it took: http://img7.imageshack.us/img7/6494/trillianp.jpg | 2009-09-15 05:20:00 Author: comphermc ![]() Posts: 5338 |

And thanks for the site man I'm going to give a look through, I'm getting tired of the theme, doesn't fit my wallpaper very well either. Oh, nice AIM skin as well, I'd look for something similar but I use Pidgin (kind of the same thing, I'm able to run AIM, MSN, Yahoo Messenger, etc...) on one program with Pidgin though. | 2009-09-15 05:33:00 Author: Whalio Cappuccino ![]() Posts: 5250 |

The bars you see are called docks, such as Rocket Dock. They can be downloaded for free and are a quick way to launch things. The clocks, etc. are a Vista(or Mac) feature called widgets. If you have Vista you can download them from Yahoo! Widgets. I'll post my desktop when I change it sometime, right now it's just something I was making in LBP. | 2009-09-17 04:38:00 Author: BassDeluxe ![]() Posts: 984 |

I see people with these awesome bars and clocks and all that. How did you get all that? Most people get them through a thing called Rainmeter (http://code.google.com/p/rainmeter/) which lets you customise your desktop with clocks, calenders, themes etc. ![]() | 2009-09-17 15:56:00 Author: Killian ![]() Posts: 2575 |

I've been sans icons for some time now and it's glorious. EDIT: I love the aesthetics of things like RocketDock, but it's becoming apparent that it won't work too well in coordination with Windows 7 and the "superbar"... Jumping on the bandwagon. Woot. http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b389/dandygandy2704/ScreenHunter_12.jpg I tried going icon-less, but it felt too empty. Needed to resurrect this nigh dead thread to ask a question to the masses. Hopefully, someone will be able to point me in the right direction. Might as well throw out an updated wallpaper while I'm at it, huh? http://i35.tinypic.com/2hs3pcp.png So, my question is for anyone that uses or is familiar with Rainmeter and similar applications. I'm fine with the current background given the season, but there are other wallpapers I've had to pass over due the fact they're a little too busy and make the skins difficult to read as a result. So, does anyone know of a separate application (or another skin for that matter) that acts as something of a background? To be clear, I want it to sit on top of the wallpaper and under the Rainmeter skins so as to act as a "frame". Make sense? I'm going to look in the meantime. Thanks, guys. | 2009-10-19 00:18:00 Author: supersickie ![]() Posts: 1366 |

http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r449/ir0nmaid3nfan/Picture1-3.png Me going around the outside of another driver in the 'Rcom GTM' series... It was the last lap, coming up to the first corner, i dived around the outside, missed his front bumper by inches, hit the apex and took the lead. Was so epic, i wallpeper'd it. ![]() | 2010-02-16 01:36:00 Author: Unknown User ![]() |

All my desktop stuff is from Hubble. ![]() Whoa. that's creepy. not only are you one of the only other mac-desktops I've seen, but I as well have exclusively hubble wallpapers. Right now there's literally a picture of colliding galaxies on my desktop, and I see it anytime I go between applications while working, which can be absurd sometimes and overwhelming at others. So maybe I should replace it with baby bunnies or something. But I can't bring myself to do it. http://imgur.com/fHgrg.jpg By the way Morgana, I have your exact desktop saved in my "wallpaper bag" as well. Also, while I'm on the topic: March 19. Imax: Hubble 3D. AW MY PANTS!! AGAIN! EDIT: By the way, would you get out of my head for god's sake? I have things I need to do in there! It may seem like I'M the one stalking YOU, but I assure you, it's you that must be doing the psychic spying. | 2010-02-16 02:14:00 Author: Teebonesy ![]() Posts: 1937 |

You kids and your Vista machines, and Macbooks! My wallpaper is virtually non existent, as when I am using a GUI... I use a tiling window manager. In other words, any windows I have fill up the entire screen. http://www.calvinbeck.com/screens/screen1.png But, if I happen to have no windows open... I see this. http://www.calvinbeck.com/screens/screen2.png | 2010-02-16 04:44:00 Author: microchirp ![]() Posts: 412 |

Do you actually use GUI or are you just messing, well of course you are because i dont think you would be on this thread using gui. Sometimes I use a GUI, other times I do not. I can easily post here without one, though. Those screenshots are from when I am using a GUI. | 2010-02-17 00:28:00 Author: microchirp ![]() Posts: 412 |
