Wow, I made the most mind-blowing discovery today!! Go into the PS3's "System Settings", change language to whatever you want, and then play LBP. Not only will all of the in-game text have been translated into whatever language you selected, but the introduction and tutorial voice-overs will now be spoken in that language. This is amazing, I'm off to "study" for my Spanish listening test on Thursday by playing through the game en espanol!

I can tell you that even if the GOTY levels were only intended for USA, I can read the titles, the descriptions and all the speech bubbles in Italian. For the other community levels, they're not translated Ninja. I'm sorry

community level speech bubbles don't get translated, BUT the story ones + the 18 GOTY levels do.

That works with almost any game. Awesome!! I think I'm going to leave it on Spanish for a while and see which other games are fully translated. But with LBP I'm particularly impressed that they've recorded and included on the disc ALL of the different voice-overs in each language. I think I might even go listen to that Finnish (or was he Norwegian) guy who did the voices for the game, and won a big award for his work. Although I have to say, I will miss Stephen Fry

Sei stato tu in particolare che ho pensato quando ho chiesto, dato che aveva parlato prima. Google Translator FTW!!!!!!!!! But yeah, you can see the problem,like OmegaSlayer said, a computer can translate something word for word, but it won't really make sense most of the time. I'm angry at LBP though.... the PAL version doesn't support Japanese! When my system language is Japanese everything is still in English! Grrrrrrrr Uncharted worked, Heavenly Sword worked.... why not LBP!?

It's funny... back when I first hired Takelow for LBPC: The Game, I ALWAYS wondered why he was playing "Nivea Ver" or whatever... Took me till he published a beta of his level and it was French for new level that I realized that was French for New level XD

Nice. Do community level speech bubbles translate as well? I hope so. ... ... would that even be effectively implementable? All the programs I know of that do this "automatically" horribly garble it. Grammar, syntax, idioms - this doesn't some feasible, at least not in any quality way in LBP.

I'm a fan of old martial arts films with terrible translations and dubs, so I think it would be great even if it came out like an All Your Base Are Belong To Us video.
