Can you escape? ** under construction ** all Hi everyone Since I just learned the F4F system I wanted to re-post my level because I really want to join in with this wonderful system. I will also be doing reviews in the review section for anyone who posts a request there. My latest level is now 60% complete and features following scenes: arrival going to cell blocks escaping in outer space zero gravity alarm scene space vehicle medical bay air vent and many more to come It's all about escaping the facility and I have tried to perfect all the basics of little big planet as good as I could do. On the level I played it said that it was 60% complete. You might already be working on some things that I mention. Here are some things from my first play through: ? As the spaceship approaches, you should make it darker to make it seem more like space. Right now the black rubber background is really noticeable. If you change the fog color to black and make it darker, it might look better. ? The eye scan was cool, nice touch. ? I actually liked the power node puzzle. It worked really well. I usually do not enjoy jetpack related puzzles but you pulled if off really well. ? Are the guys in green suits unfinished enemies? Are they friends? ? What was the sliding green light thing at the medical station? Looked interesting?but what is it? ? No boss!? Awwww! Obviously, as you mentioned, this seems like an unfinished story driven level. Just add in speech so the player knows what's going on. Maybe find a way to add in some kind of boss. It could even just be a bunch of those green suit guys shooting from a scaffold while the player performs one last epic platforming escape route towards the finish. Hey ! First of all, thanks a lot for playing and the comments. The "make it more dark in space" comment was something I didn't thought of just yet, so thanks for the good avice. I will surely be correcting that. as for the green guys, those are the guardians of the prison, they still need some lines and action scenes will be performed with them in the last 40% of the level. In fact, the scenes that will come now will be action packed, so the platforming part died as soon as you entered the air vent and got shot the green thingy was just a door effect I added, not sure if it's in place there but it looked cool, some colour in the world how did you like the area where the hallway makes a 180% turn and you fall to the spikes only just saving yourself with the sponge hanging? | 2009-09-11 17:20:00 Author: nightwing Posts: 422 |
and of course there will be a boss. I just don't know yet how it will play out, I will think on that for the next weeks. release date of the fully completed version will be around 1st or 2nd week of october I think. how did you like the area where the hallway makes a 180% turn and you fall to the spikes only just saving yourself with the sponge hanging? That part caught me off guard and I died the first time through. Maybe add some warning buzzers and lights and have it tip a little slower for the player to react. thanks! I cannot change the speed because otherwise it might get stuck when you have the time to go back (works on a player proximity sensor). Very good remark about the warning lights though. One more thing I wonder about : one person replied to me that my level was Empty. Maybe it's just me, but I believe I put quite a lot of detail in the level wherever possible. you cannot add plants or furniture in a prison. Just played through the level, you say its 60 procent complete and it already has the good level size, are you going to make it bigger or add more detail to it? I'd say you have to put in some more details and sound effects. I liked the lightning and you definitly sticked to the theme. The intro was cool but it could use some details like stars/light effects/spaceship sounds. Some things you should improve: * Add sound effects to switches so you know that you trigger something * Hide the switches, it looks better without them * Add more cool stuff like the eye scanner What about teleporters and guns? Thanks a lot for the feedback !! What did you think of the air vent shaft at the end ? That was with big guns firing at you You are correct about the details, I will add more objects in some areas, add some more lighting effects and some sound effects to some switches as you just told me. You are completely right with the intro, it's nice but lacking some WOW effect. I will add some spectacular lighting effects and passing spaceship or some sort. played it 10 seconds ago. Here are what i can think of pros Gameplay and the obstacle ideas are nice cons The shuttle at the beginin doesn't look like shuttle. If you have problem imagine things up, find some pics on the internet then make shuttle out of it. I missed the first elevator, and it didn't come back ---> restart lvl Music doesn't match the story (IMO) The look really really needs works. Use the corner editor and grid if needed. I finally got round to playing it. -I could jump over the first green man and got stuck in a corner. -After that nothing worked the same -There seem to be too many doors! -I broke the Zero Gravity wheel and had to restart -The green man saying "prisinor escaped" doesn't seem too worried - he just stands there. Maybe you could have him shooting... Thanks a lot for the feedback,! You are right about the black rubber I tried to fix that by making the level in the beginning darker so the intro section should be ok. I guess you are referring to the escape section, I did have some trouble placing some day - night switch there as it would mess up the lighting in different parts. Thanks for reporting the bug with the security guard, I missed that one! Since all the gates there work with proximity switches one way it can indeed mess up everything. The zero gravity section normally works fine unless you really screw up while playing lol Once again ,thanks for the good advice! Thanks for the reply, on the zero gravity I somehow made it stop moving round. I tried everything to get out but finally had to restart. Also, somehow one of the colored squares broke and disappeared :S As for which level I want you to play... Well Im bringing out a new level soon and Im going to put that on F4F, but at the moment Race City Madness is proberly the one I would like you to feedback.
