Prefered interwebs browser? Google Chrome? Firefox? IE?!?!?
Archive: 62 posts
Mine? GOOGLE CHROME. I like it since it runs a bit faster, can run in fullscreen (Pressing F11), has a nifty bookmark toolbar on the top thet can have bookmark folders in it too, Has a "most visited" page whenever a new tab is opened, you can search in the address bar, and it is EXTREMLY POWERFUL. How powerful? It can run games and 3d models INSIDE THE BROWSER, no addons or downloads. just check out CHROME EXPERIMENTS (http://www.chromeexperiments.com/). My favorite? THIS (http://mrdoob.com/projects/chromeexperiments/google_gravity/). It is google.. but with gravity... You must be using chrome to try this out... THE BEST FEATRE... i am an EXTREMLY badd speler, and it has a BUILT IN SPELL CHECKER on whatever text bodies you are typing on or editing. For those of you liking the sleek design of chrome, but liking Firefox more... check this (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/8782) out. ...should have made a poll... | 2009-09-10 22:56:00 Author: chezhead Posts: 1063 |
Google Chrome too! Its awesome and its fast! | 2009-09-10 23:24:00 Author: Snrm Posts: 6419 |
I use Safari and Firefox equally. I really like Chrome, but it's not available for Mac yet. | 2009-09-11 05:06:00 Author: mrsupercomputer Posts: 1335 |
Due to the fact that I run this site, I actually have pretty much every major browser installed on my OS - Firefox, Opera, Chrome, Safari, and (to my dismay) IE. However, I generally only use Firefox for day-to-day browsing. If Chrome supported Xmarks, Lastpass, (both developers are currently working on it, hurray!) and had some form of adblocking, I'd switch. Right now, Firefox is my browser of choice. | 2009-09-11 05:21:00 Author: ConfusedCartman Posts: 3729 |
I use Firefox, but I've been contemplating giving Chrome a whirl. | 2009-09-11 05:41:00 Author: CaptainCowboyHat Posts: 153 |
I hate that Firefox... I prefer Opera for no particular reason. | 2009-09-11 08:19:00 Author: iiiijujube Posts: 594 |
Safari Mac for teh win | 2009-09-11 08:25:00 Author: Boomy Posts: 3701 |
Meh, I've been using Firefox since 0.8ish (not sure exactly). I see no reason to move to anything else. TBH running 3D models and proprietory extensions within a browser sounds like very bad news to me - although I know nearly nothing about it so I won't pass judgement just yet. | 2009-09-11 10:13:00 Author: rtm223 Posts: 6497 |
Safari. Google knows enough about me already. /tinfoil-hat | 2009-09-11 10:33:00 Author: Syroc Posts: 3193 |
Safari mostly too... Firefox if some rare stuff don't work on Safari | 2009-09-11 10:42:00 Author: dajdaj03 Posts: 1486 |
I use Google Chrome, Firefox didn't play well on my computer after Firefox 2, and Safari runs great, after it takes five minutes to start up. | 2009-09-11 11:31:00 Author: BSprague Posts: 2325 |
I use the Opera web browser, very underused by the rest of the world but a great browser with great features. Great mouse shortcuts and the best tab system out there. | 2009-09-11 12:41:00 Author: Zwollie Posts: 2173 |
I've customized firefox to the fullest and to my liking.... It's probably impossible for me to change browsers now >.< Unless there was a magical way of transferring all my add-ons to that browser.... | 2009-09-11 12:45:00 Author: snowyjoe Posts: 509 |
I use Google Chrome. I really don't want to but I absolutely cannot make the switch back to Firefox. It has so much more but it's like Chrome has brainwashed me. I'm not entirely joking. | 2009-09-11 12:50:00 Author: Snappyguy Posts: 710 |
Firefox, it's the only one that works. | 2009-09-11 20:17:00 Author: ARD Posts: 4291 |
I'm on the Google Chrome developer channel. Wouldn't call myself a developer exactly (or not at all for that matter), but I'm confident enough in myself to actually utilize the extra features as they roll out. | 2009-09-11 20:47:00 Author: supersickie Posts: 1366 |
I use firefox exclusively. IE is no good, and I don't want to support the Google empire any more than I have to. | 2009-09-11 20:54:00 Author: Gilgamesh Posts: 2536 |
necro'd. Just got an email saying google chrome is now in beta for mac, so i'm downloading it. Let's see if it's as good as some of you make it out to be | 2009-12-09 17:07:00 Author: Unknown User |
Chrome is shocking, don't bother. | 2009-12-09 17:16:00 Author: ARD Posts: 4291 |
Chrome is shocking, don't bother. Doesn't seem to bad to me, what don't you like about it? | 2009-12-09 17:20:00 Author: Unknown User |
Now it has EXTENSIONS! https://chrome.google.com/extensions That is the official extension site, but there are plenty more non-tested non-certified by Google extensions. EXTENSIONS ARE SIMPLY WHAT ADD-ONS ARE TO FIREFOX. | 2009-12-09 17:37:00 Author: chezhead Posts: 1063 |
I love chrome It's awesome. | 2009-12-09 17:37:00 Author: ryryryan Posts: 3767 |
Firefox! It's the only browser my stupid HP laptop'll run right. -Internet Explorer freezes and is slow as dirt -Google Chrome shuts itself down about every 5 minutes -Safari worked kinda okay...except it stays running in the background even after I close it. | 2009-12-09 17:41:00 Author: GreyMRP Posts: 588 |
firefox, because of the addons. | 2009-12-09 17:45:00 Author: oldage Posts: 2824 |
Chrome now has addons, but they are called EXTENSIONS instead. The most notable ones so far are: Google Mail Checker Ad-blocker and some more... | 2009-12-09 17:48:00 Author: chezhead Posts: 1063 |
Firefox. Just grew up with it, really. | 2009-12-09 17:49:00 Author: Grimdour Posts: 142 |
I grew up with Internet Explorer, and that was so awesome at the time. But when I saw this thing called "Google Chrome" and it looked a load faster, I used it and "fell in love". Firefox is OK, but the real only reason it sits on my desktop unused is simply the face that it takes about five minutes until it opens. I mean, its my default browser (No idea why) and when I click on a link in IM, five minutes later it'll start bugging me about updates and then will open up. I am WAY TOO IMPATIENT. Now post something. A reply. NOW. REPLY ALREADY!!!!! Just Kidding! | 2009-12-09 17:53:00 Author: chezhead Posts: 1063 |
Chrome now has addons, but they are called EXTENSIONS instead. The most notable ones so far are: Google Mail Checker Ad-blocker and some more... firefox still started with them. and firefox is also faster on my laptop. | 2009-12-09 17:57:00 Author: oldage Posts: 2824 |
Wait, so Google Chrome... made by a company that lives on ad revenue... allows you to put ad-blocking extensions on it? Oh irony. | 2009-12-09 17:58:00 Author: Gilgamesh Posts: 2536 |
Wait, so Google Chrome... made by a company that lives on ad revenue... allows you to put ad-blocking extensions on it? Oh irony. Actually, It doesn't stop those "Sponsored Links" on the side of google searches. | 2009-12-09 18:04:00 Author: chezhead Posts: 1063 |
Actually, It doesn't stop those "Sponsored Links" on the side of google searches. that's a big fail right there. | 2009-12-09 18:12:00 Author: oldage Posts: 2824 |
Firefox, with I.E. tab and a few auto filters. Poifect. | 2009-12-09 18:26:00 Author: rtm223 Posts: 6497 |
Firefox, with I.E. tab and a few auto filters. Poifect. I read the word 'poifect' in a voice inside my head, but i can't remember where it's from. This will annoy me now, which character talks like that? | 2009-12-09 19:05:00 Author: Unknown User |
Firefox | 2009-12-09 19:34:00 Author: Boomy Posts: 3701 |
Before I make a judgment call on which I prefer, I'd like to know if Chrome has any equivalent extensions to the following firefox add-ons: Firebug Stylish Greasemonkey IE tab All-In-One Sidebar I've looked, but not very far. | 2009-12-09 21:54:00 Author: Hibbsi Posts: 203 |
I'm really liking chrome so far, though the only customization i have looked at is changing the theme Black with cool spectrum ftw | 2009-12-09 22:24:00 Author: Unknown User |

I do know there is a IE tab option. | 2009-12-09 22:45:00 Author: chezhead Posts: 1063 |
I read the word 'poifect' in a voice inside my head, but i can't remember where it's from. This will annoy me now, which character talks like that? One of the Three Stooges I believe... I still think it's down to personal preference more than anything. You can find a way to justify your browser of choice. As I said before, I'm a big fan of the Google Chrome developer channel (running 4.0.249.25 right now). Chrome offers a speedy web experience and it's fairly easy on the system resources. More than anything else, I think I like the simplistic design and that everything is built around the tab experience. Call me crazy, but I love the little guy... | 2009-12-09 22:53:00 Author: supersickie Posts: 1366 |

Already i am really liking Chrome, even though it's only the beta | 2009-12-09 23:29:00 Author: Unknown User |
Firefox with noscript and other similar addons. Noscript is one of the best addons ever. | 2009-12-09 23:37:00 Author: Foofles Posts: 2278 |
Already i am really liking Chrome, even though it's only the beta I wonder whats different from the beta and real thing. I have real thing cause i got windows. BTW what is noscript for firefox? | 2009-12-09 23:38:00 Author: Snrm Posts: 6419 |
I wonder whats different from the beta and real thing. I have real thing cause i got windows. BTW what is noscript for firefox? Probably one of the most important plugins you can get for it : http://noscript.net/ What it does is it blocks every script on the page from running. EVERYTHING. Java, Javascript, flash, ActiveX, etc. Unless you allow each particular one. It might seem annoying but you cannot argue enough how safe it is. | 2009-12-09 23:48:00 Author: Foofles Posts: 2278 |
I wonder whats different from the beta and real thing. I have real thing cause i got windows. If you're a Windows user then you're likely already experiencing what Mac and Linux users working with in their beta. The difference is the Windows side has a few different releases (stable, beta, and developer) whereas the Linux users have the one (beta) for now. They'll more than likely get a full release in the near future. Glad you're enjoying it though, ir0nmaid3nfan! | 2009-12-10 00:58:00 Author: supersickie Posts: 1366 |
Hello Everybody !! I was use Firefox before this month but I recently start to use Google Chrome. It is nice experience. Thanks. | 2009-12-10 10:06:00 Author: lovejenete Posts: 3 |
Firefox got adblock on every ad thats ever shown up and a few peoples sigs because they looked horrible. | 2009-12-10 11:03:00 Author: Rabid-Coot Posts: 6728 |
I used to use IE all the time, but the last upgrade to version 8 just crawled horribly slow, especially on this site. It also started failing when opening a new tab and screaming at me that I had add on's enabled that were failing. Funny thing was, I didn't have any! I started using Firefox and really happy with it, especially since they added the Open a new tab thingy. | 2009-12-10 12:01:00 Author: jwwphotos Posts: 11383 |
I impressed how much Chrome has succeeded. It entered a market with established browsers that worked great as they were, and still seemed to get a large proportion of users on Chrome. I can't wait to see how their Operating System stacks up. BBC article on it: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/8369611.stm It wouldn't suit my use of a PC but I'm sure it will be useful to some. | 2009-12-10 14:22:00 Author: ryryryan Posts: 3767 |
I use chrome at home. But unfortunately alot of the time i am forced to use IE. I switched from IE when it kept crashing flash player for no reason whatsoever. That was the second time i installed 8.0 the first time i installed it it broke the internet (well IE anyways) I needed to use the only other browser installed, firefox to find out how to un install IE. | 2009-12-10 15:08:00 Author: robotiod Posts: 2662 |

My favorite? THIS (http://mrdoob.com/projects/chromeexperiments/google_gravity/). It is google.. but with gravity... You must be using chrome to try this out... No you don't i use firefox and it worked, laggy but thats my computer not the browser... Oh and you forgot about the PS3 browser and the Wii browser | 2009-12-10 19:20:00 Author: Doopz Posts: 5592 |
Doesn't seem to bad to me, what don't you like about it? It's just horrible... I mean what does it do I can't to with Firefox? (and Firefox can do everything ) | 2009-12-10 19:24:00 Author: ARD Posts: 4291 |
Now, now; let's not have a browser war here people. After all, aren't we all winning if we can get away from Internet Explorer once in awhile? | 2009-12-10 19:29:00 Author: supersickie Posts: 1366 |
I couldn't use IE if I wanted to...ever since it updated to 8 it's crashed every time I've tried to load it. | 2009-12-10 19:32:00 Author: ARD Posts: 4291 |
I mean what does it do I can't to with Firefox? This is my view really. I swapped over to Firefox right in its early days, so I've been using it for years. It does everything that I need from a browser, so I have never even considered looking at chrome or any other alternative. | 2009-12-10 19:36:00 Author: rtm223 Posts: 6497 |
Yeah, I think if i would have grown up with firefox, I would simply stick with that. But the only other browser I have ever used to a great extent is IE, which crashed EVERY SINGLE DAY I USED IT. I just saw how fast chrome was and BAM. "I fell in love". Firefox just starts to slow. I can't wait that long (even if it is just a matter of minutes). | 2009-12-11 03:46:00 Author: chezhead Posts: 1063 |
I use internet explorer because I'm a Microsoft junkie. I don't have many problems with it either so I don't bother about switching. Google is my prefered search engine though. It's strange how many people who hate IE are fans of it on Facebook. | 2009-12-11 04:36:00 Author: RagTagPwner Posts: 344 |
I just saw how fast chrome was and BAM. "I fell in love". Firefox just starts to slow. I can't wait that long (even if it is just a matter of minutes). If firefox is slow for you, you have something horribly wrong with your computer. | 2009-12-12 14:42:00 Author: ARD Posts: 4291 |
I've had firefox ever since IE had some bug with LBPc for not recognizing some code and stretching the top of the page, so I finally decided to get Firefox. Been good, i guess. So yeah, Fox's up B move :kz: | 2009-12-12 14:44:00 Author: RockSauron Posts: 10882 |
