OooooooooYA Woooooooot. We now get it on the 24th http://www.ps3fanboy.com/2008/09/16/littlebigplanet-brought-forward-to-oct-24th-in-europe-21st-in-u/ LittleBigReleaseDates! We've received a press release stating that LittleBigPlanet will be released in the UK on October 24th. We're not sure whether the rest of Europe will be receiving it on the 29th or not, but the UK will definitely be able to get their hands on the game five days ahead of the date announced at Leipzig. If you want it before then, however, you'll need to be on the other side of the Atlantic. North Americans will be getting their LittleBigMits on the game three days before that, on the 21st. Not exactly simultaneous, but close enough. LittleBigPlanet is (finally!) almost out. DUDE. This fits PERFECTLY in my schedule.

Not to stir up the whole date release confusing again but... Over at Joystiq it says this: A few hours ago, a press release was issued by an outside PR agency in the UK on behalf of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, stating that LittleBigPlanet's European release date is October 24. Naturally, we were a little confused, as we'd previously been told by SCEE directly that the release date was October 29. When we followed up with this agency, we were informed that the Oct. 24 date was definitely for Europe, and that the game would be released October 21 in North America. Although Oct. 21 is the date that's been batted around in North America for a while, we still haven't received any official confirmation and, after contacting SCEA, were informed by a rep: "We have not yet announced an official North American release date." This is official: LittleBigPlanet's release date is giving us a VeryLargeHeadache. Joystiq (http://http://ps3.joystiq.com/) Will the U.S. date get changed again too?

For all of you in Europe, here's an official release date for LittleBigPlanet. It's much earlier than we initially heard, which is a welcome suprise. Here you go: Sony Europe just sent through official word that LittleBigPlanet has a release date. And that date is Friday, October 24. Just over a month away. Seems strange that something we've been following so closely for so long as a "it's coming sometime in the distant future" will actually be with us, but hey, if Spore can do it, LBP can do it too. Bear in mind this was a European announcement, so there's no cast-iron guarantee that the US date will be the same. I am in agreement with you Alex, especially when we were 9 days behind, it had often bugged me that we had to wait even longer than the US for a British game. Japanese gamers get their games first, US get theirs first, so should we, it makes logical sense. But, hey, 3 days I can live with.

Why haven't they put this or the beta news on the news site? What is thet site for!? Challenges only? Perhaps the lack of a mention on the news site means it's not supposed to be announced yet. Wouldn't be the first time that a large company has accidentally had a press release leaked early. As for the Japanese beta, maybe they assume that Japanese gamers aren't visiting their English-language news site. (A mistake, as I get a fair bit of Japanese traffic on a certain unnamed fan blog that's also in English.)

It does suck that the UK dont get it the same time of the rest of the EU but at least it comes out on the friday so we can play it all weekend!! I'm not that fussed, if you order it of play.com it usually comes a day early anyways so if that does happen, I'll only be a day behind!
