Fights

I live in a pretty small town where nothing really goes on. This leads some of the kids in our school to try and act cool and rebellious when really they're just immature and stupid. They want to fight everyone and are all wannabe gangsters.

What do you guys think about fighting? I think fighting is stupid. You being able to injure another human being proves nothing. It doesn't prove who is right or who is wrong, only who is stronger. Bill O'Reilly isn't right because he's really loud, is he? At first I wouldn't listen to people who said "violence isn't the answer", but now I realize that this kind of behavior makes you seem stupid. Anger is weakness. Those who can suppress anger and don't turn to senseless violence to make a point are thinking humans, and the others are just uncivilized.

Of course there are circumstances where you might have to fight, but if someone insults you, ignoring it really is the smartest thing to do, if you ask me.

Yeah, I also agree that being able to beat up another human doesn't prove ANYTHING, and that violence is just well, pretty stupid really. I usually try to hold in my anger, but sometimes it just comes out as pure rage. I never fight anybody though.2009-09-09 20:25:00

I dont know what i think about the matter but in 3rd grade i punched a kid in the face. i forgot why too.

And in 6th grade i accidently punched a kid in the face and he was bleeding from the nose real bad. BUT it wasnt my fault he like stuck his finger in my neck so that my body sort of twitched and my twitch sorta nailed him in the face!		2009-09-09 20:51:00

My school is the same way.

They slap each other in the side of the head for 12 seconds until a police officer breaks them up.

And that's a fight. Then after your suspension you hold hands and hug with a girl for 2 weeks and become popular.		2009-09-10 05:09:00

this is too true. i say if youre in a school fight, and youre going to get suspended anyways, at least actually defend yourself properly, and make the most of it. actually FIGHT. dont just sissy around.

dont get me wrong, i think violence is horrible. but this has always kind of been my view on school fights. judge me if youd like, i dont care.

the reason this is my opinion is because my school has this stupid rule where if youre in a fight, no matter what, you get suspended. even if youre being mercilessly beaten without defending yourself. it doesnt matter. even if you were trying to break it up and throw one of the fighters to the floor to stop them, guess what? suspended. if you were even part of the physical fight, in any way, youre suspended. i think they need to actually analyze what went down, and then decide who gets punished, but they dont care.

but outside of school (like in small neighborhoods or towns), i think its best to just avoid the fighting all together. theres no reason for it. i agree with that the only thing it proves is who can beat up who. its just really immature and pointless.		2009-09-10 05:39:00

Fighting is for those with low intelligence... and sometimes those who are troubled and have issues they need to work on. Either way, it's sad that people spend so much energy on something that will only yield negative results for all parties involved.2009-09-10 16:55:00

lol, I got into fights with chavs a lot. I just ignore them now but back then they used to say a lot of **** about me, spreading crap and stuff like that. So I kinda had to do business...Y'know.2009-09-10 17:57:00

Well, unless it's practice fighting, I DESPISE ALL FORMS OF VIOLENCE. I'm into pressure point fighting, which I love, and also martial arts and karate. I'd take Juno lessons too, but I'm too young for any place near me. My uncle knows a bit of it though, and every chance I get he teaches me what he knows.

The way I see it, violence is for people who don't know how to control themselves, or deal with their problems, so they resort to violence. I practice meditation daily, especially chi and flame meditation, so I've got pretty good control over myself. I also study Tao Te Ching, ancient Chinese wisdom written by Lao-tzu.

Anyway, I pretty much hate the bad things in the world and try to stay in touch with the better side of the universe.		2009-09-10 21:11:00

I'm in the upper sixth now, so there aren't many fights, the only violent thing is play fights, or the odd punch, few headlocks, a few bundles, however the bundles are quite fearsome, 15 guys all 17+ years old jumping onto one person, I am usually the one orchestrating it though....Bwahaahaa

I'm not violent at all, but its funny watching people play fight, or bundle, I'm in the corner usually laughing my *** off.

To be honest if I get insulted I just ignore them, but however as I am disabled and I am at a very good school, only my closest mates hurl abuse at me because I have known them for sooooooooo long. I'm sure if someone was generally hurling abuse at me for no reason the guys in my house (section of school) would help me out, which is pretty cool if you ask me. 		2009-09-11 08:33:00
