Is there any way to keep the tether less jet pack on one plane or switch planes whilst using it. ie, if I have a tunnel in the middle plane, I will not be able to get through as the jet pack always comes to the front plane I would have thought having the tether less jet pack placed in the mid plane would keep it there, anyway around this?

How 'bout you put another jetpack (In the middle layer) at the entrance of the cave?? I think this way it'll switch.

There is no way to switch layers, the jetpack manually puts you in teh front plane. However, you CAN switch layers if you're grabbing on to somehting in that layer, and you can make things to block the jetpack and force the player into a further back plane.
