Mountain Bike Racer Revamp

Archive: 2 posts

We've all seen those mountain bike levels. You roll down a hill, going off jumps, potentially flipping over, and come to a smashing halt. Aw, it's over! The good things about those levels is that they're addicting and fun... but for a short time. The bad things are they're shallow, short, and underdeveloped. Jumps are fun, yes. But where's the innovation? Where's the replay value (besides addiction)? Where's the element that will make this different from all the other mountain bike racers? I believe that's yet to be discovered.

I'm wanting to make a mountain bike level as well, but different and special compared to all the others. I need some ideas on what could make this level interesting. First off, I need a bike design. Something simple like the well-known 2-wheeled yellow bikes, but something that looks a bit better. I also want to make the ride as long as possible, possibly by zig-zagging the track as it goes down the level, allowing for a longer ride.

So as far as jumps, loops, springs, and other things, do you guys have any ideas?

Feel free to check out my mountain bikes (my PSN is also CartoonPiranha). They are a little fragile, but generally very controllable and fairly quick, plus they look reasonably good (I think). It is available as an object at the end of my mountain bike level, and it is shareable. I'd love to see ewhat you can do with it, because whilst I'm quite pleased with the bike I don't particularly like my course. Hope this helps!2009-10-18 12:31:00
