I was thinking, when playing alone on a level, that you are trying to ace, why is it so hard? causei can't seem to ace magicians palace!!! i don't know what it is, but when i am playing alone, i cannot for the love of god ace it!!!! It's like my heart is going to explode, and even though i know everything about the level, i cannot ace it! Any ideas?

Aside from the beginner levels I've never aced any of them, so you're not alone there. I feel that I'm more likely to grow wings and fly to the moon than to ever complete a story level without dying. You're only missing out on a few non-essential costumes though, so don't worry too much about it, since all the creation tools are unlocked in other ways.

The key to acing is to calm down, take every step seriously.... and play the level OVER AND OVER again. No matter how much you know about the layout of the level you don't memorize the timing of each puzzle. So the key is to keep on playing until you understand the timing, and then after that it's just a matter of staying sane and trying not to die. Acing some of the levels are fun.... but some levels are just horrible to ace....I've thrown my controller at my cat a number of times from trying to ace levels.

Don't tell yourself "I'm gonna ace this go" - at that point you've put the pressure on 10 fold. If you know the level quite well then I say you're at a point to sit down and tell yourself "I'm gonna ace this level before I get up again". Restart on each death and just keep going. That was my method when I was acing the harder levels. But then as Ungreth says, there really isn't much to actually gain from acing story mode...

I aced most of them without realising. my advice would be; don't rush. most of them are pretty easy as long as your not jumping about like a madman.
