Sony truely are evil, making the popular games look terrible with the platinum tag to make the less popular games sell more! Now Motorstorm, Killzone, Resistance and MetalGearSolid have fallen victim to this tactic! http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2009/09/07/playstation-3-platinum-range-expands/ I think we should open a petition to stop this before it spreads even further

And GTA4 is coming, but I'm really happy to have been a first day buyer for all those 4 games. MGS4 is awesome, I really hope they will introduce trophies.

Personally I only buy the games in their original packaging. I really dislike the Platinum packaging.

Good god!! That's what they're shovelling onto shelves as best-sellers in Europe?? That's... Oh God, that is awful. I mean, I'm not saying that the greatest hits over here are better-looking than their original counterparts, but at least they stayed away from making it look like they slathered lemon tart filling all over the game packages. Over here it's the same as the original packaging, but the plastic case is red instead of clear, similar to how blu ray movies' are blue. The ONLY other difference is the tiniest of little tiny strips along the top, in the same color red, with "Greatest Hits" written across. http://imgur.com/IMSA5.jpg

wow. just wow. no offense to the people in europe, but i agree with Teebonesy. that yellow packaging completely ruins the game. it makes it look like crap! i personally prefer the clear original packaging, but if i had to choose between your yellow, and our red, id choose the red any day.

Personally,(now this is just me.) if it means less money, or more software for my money, It could come in a manilla envelope with the game title scribbled on with magic marker for all I care. It's not the box I'll be looking at when I get it home.

Why did they ever have to go yellow anyway? The PS1, PS2 and PSP Platinum games were all...platinum-coloured.

I think I Just got it. The Difference is: When you have to pay out-of-pocket for your games, the packaging doesn't mean much. When you don't pay, but are given a limit by the person who pays, I guess you would feel a little trapped into a slot, and Just have to accept what ever changes sony decides to throw at the discount market. So your only real recourse is to complain.

im sure it could have a subconsious impact. the irony is that its designed to increase sales. i think that the yellow is to grab attention. the subtle orange for ps2 classic hits is much better.
