Quick question, What happens if I were to republish a level whilst someone was playing on it? Would the player have to quit the game or could they carry on playing?

From my experience, if someone is playing while you republish, they'll continue playing the original version from before the republishing. In fact, I once was offline due to some server lag or whatever when playing Oh No! The princess #3, and I could continue playing. I believe that it is because the PS3 downloads a temp level when you play, so the data on the PS3 is whatever it was when downloading it... Anyway, yeah, they can continue on playing.

No, i don't think so. The whole level is loaded by the player's PS3 before playing it. So, i think that if you republish the level while he is playing it, he just play the previous (loaded) version of the level... EDIT: Arghh Rock...two seconds!

Something similar can be done to let people beta test things on your moon. What you do is invite them to your pod and then take them to the level. Once n the level tell them to sign out of psn via the xmb. Then they appear to have left the level and you can do something else if you want, but in reality they are still in their own temporary downloaded version which they can play in until they leave it.
