Looking for some composers!

Archive: 17 posts

So here's my little problem: My buddy is working on a level and I'm trying to help him out. And he needs a couple of songs in his level. This is where we hit the problem: I'm lousy at making songs in LBP and my friend is too busy, so I'm asking you helpful (hopefully) gadders for one thing:
Could some of you musically talented people make us a couple of songs?
The songs that we need are here:

YouTube - White Noiz - Silent Hill 2 Soundtrack

YouTube - Silent Hill 2 OST - Forest

YouTube - Silent Hill 2 - True

And now the part that some of you want to know:
"What do YOU get from this job?"
Well... I'm not quite sure... We can negotiate about the reward with each person who is willing to help 'cos I believe that not all of you want the same thing =) One thing that we can't give is MONEY and that is pretty obvious why.

But thank you all in advance! I'll be waiting for your responds

Ok, i think you can contact a very cool guy of this forum that is called KornDawwg.
He used to do and use some completely customised musics in its level.
And he always here to help. So, send him a message

Oooh I'll love to do this, looks challenging! I'm on it looped or just a section? Because if you want something that's over a minute long, whew! A long mag key track.2009-09-04 21:01:00

Thank you very much! Could you make 'em so they can be played during an actual gameplay level? Know what I mean? And we'll give you the whole credit for your work!
And here's the smile:

I don't really know how to compose in LBP...but, you're looking for more of an arranger, than anything.

Yeah, I know, I sound like a jerk. I can do it in real life without TOO many hitches...sorry, man.

Yeah, I know. But "arranger" doesn't sound as cool as COMPOSER!

Just out of interest, how badly does it raise your thermo to include a custom track?

A huge amount if your "highest thermo" is logic-based, almost not at all if it's not.

The way thermo is measured, supposedly, is actually not the intuitive way you'd probably assume. Again, supposedly - although all evidence I've seen tends to support this - the game is actually keeping track of different "thermos" for you - a logic one, a geometry one, one for the textures it needs to call up, etc. The one you see at any time is actually whichever one is highest - as it's the one that is most relevant, or at least so the logic goes.

Let's say your level has a ton of logic and is made out of three materials. Adding a 4th material would probably not move the visible-thermo at all, as it's logic that is getting too high up there. Another material is "no biggy". A custom track though would just kill you.

However, let's take an opposite situation. You have 9 materials in your levels, stickers and decorations everywhere, tons of tiny geometery, but just a few logic gates. In this case adding a custom track is unlikely to effect your visible thermo much at all, as the thermo you're being shown is currently not logic-based.

And, of course, it also depends upon how logic-heavy this custom track is.

Argggghhh! "Too much knowledge. Ignitianing self-destruct."
*BOOM*

(But again, help is apreciated)
