LittleBigPlanet DEMO - September 10th (Sack it to Me)
Archive: 31 posts
That's right! A demo is being released via the PSN Store on the 10th. Read all about it... here (http://blog.us.playstation.com/2009/09/sack-it-to-me-the-i-cant-wait-until-goty-demo-next-week-edition/). | 2009-09-04 18:20:00 Author: alexbull_uk ![]() Posts: 1287 |
But I already have the full game, so how does this affect me? What is of note from the article, which seems to be bigger news is this: ?Will existing owners get a chance to play the bonus levels?? ? Nothing has been planned yet, but stay tuned over the next few weeks as we?ll be highlighting our ?super users? so you?ll be able to search and play their other masterpieces online. Seems like a question dodge to me, which since they recently were taken to be exclusive, opens the door for current owner to play them eventually. Also, in one of the pictures, they essentially confirm a bonus level called Prism Panic, by Aardsy (it's hard to make out the name). | 2009-09-04 18:29:00 Author: comphermc ![]() Posts: 5338 |
Fail in my opinion. What's the difference? | 2009-09-04 18:29:00 Author: Adam9001 ![]() Posts: 744 |
But I already have the full game, so how does this affect me? If it doesn't affect you then just ignore it ![]() You could have friends that wanted to try it out, or it could just be nice to hear that it's being released. | 2009-09-04 18:32:00 Author: Dexiro ![]() Posts: 2100 |

Well, I didn't post this just for you. ![]() I just thought that it was interesting there was a demo being released. | 2009-09-04 18:32:00 Author: alexbull_uk ![]() Posts: 1287 |
Touche, both of you, but my point was that the demo coming out seemed like the lesser of the story for everyone here at lbpc, as it's safe to assume we already have the game. | 2009-09-04 18:33:00 Author: comphermc ![]() Posts: 5338 |
Touche, both of you, but my point was that the demo coming out seemed like the lesser of the story for everyone here at lbpc, as it's safe to assume we already have the game. You never know. There might be a few people who are contemplating getting the game, so they've read on here about what people are saying. This could be great news ![]() Though, I am annoyed that us current LBP owners don't just instantly get the 18 community levels. | 2009-09-04 18:35:00 Author: alexbull_uk ![]() Posts: 1287 |

Also, in one of the pictures, they essentially confirm a bonus level called Prism Panic, by Aardsy (it's hard to make out the name). They've said there's no plans yet, so at least they haven't said a downright "no". ![]() And looking at the pictures, it seems the levels aren't located in the country the creators live, which is a shame really. Mine seems to be to the right of Africa (unless someone else has a badge that looks like mine). I was hoping to easily be able to tell where the creators were from. | 2009-09-04 18:38:00 Author: Nuclearfish ![]() Posts: 927 |
maybe the people from the original OC beta should be the only others to get the bonus levels ![]() ![]() | 2009-09-04 18:39:00 Author: Dexiro ![]() Posts: 2100 |
I wonder if it will be possible to join someone who has the GOTY edition and play the levels that way? Surely it would....? | 2009-09-04 18:41:00 Author: Nuclearfish ![]() Posts: 927 |
grr comphy beat me to it, although I would have gone for the more sarcastic response. You could have friends that wanted to try it out They can do that on my sofa ![]() Though, I am annoyed that us current LBP owners don't just instantly get the 18 community levels. Yeah, we only get the 1 million community levels to play. Sucks to be us ![]() maybe the people from the original OC beta should be the only others to get the bonus levels ![]() ![]() Well they do seem to get everything else that's limited <where's the jealous smiley> | 2009-09-04 18:43:00 Author: rtm223 ![]() Posts: 6497 |
Well they do seem to get everything else that's limited Including the bugs. ^_^ | 2009-09-04 18:55:00 Author: Syroc ![]() Posts: 3193 |
we all get bugs, they just get the special edition bugs ![]() | 2009-09-04 19:19:00 Author: rtm223 ![]() Posts: 6497 |
They can do that on my sofa ![]() Not everyone only has local friends that would actually come over to play a game xD Most of my friends don't come within a mile of my unless i'm hosting a party, and the others live in different countries ![]() | 2009-09-04 19:29:00 Author: Dexiro ![]() Posts: 2100 |
Most of my friends don't come within a mile of my unless i'm hosting a party That's cause you don't shower... ![]() Alright back on topic... Thanks for the article link. | 2009-09-04 20:02:00 Author: comphermc ![]() Posts: 5338 |
Yeah, we only get the 1 million community levels to play. Sucks to be us ![]() You do know that you can play those with the GOTY Edition too? Just making sure ![]() | 2009-09-04 20:46:00 Author: alexbull_uk ![]() Posts: 1287 |
it is rather interesting to see a demo get released for the game. People who've been missing out on the party (and what a party it is) can finally experience what LBP has to offer. But, it's not really important news to us. | 2009-09-04 21:42:00 Author: SLS10 ![]() Posts: 1129 |
The demo may bring on some more people but how about bundling the PS3 Slim with LBP? | 2009-09-04 23:10:00 Author: Kipmonlin ![]() Posts: 251 |
Great, finally! I don't think they can ever encapsulate all that is LBP into a demo though! But cool for those who are STILL on the fence about it | 2009-09-05 16:57:00 Author: noddle111 ![]() Posts: 174 |
i'll probably end up downloading it just to see what they used for the demo... | 2009-09-05 17:09:00 Author: Unknown User ![]() |
Will we be able to play with people who have the demo? Or will we ourselves need to download it too? | 2009-09-05 17:12:00 Author: ARD ![]() Posts: 4291 |
I doubt the demo will have multi-player, online or offline. Or does it? | 2009-09-05 17:18:00 Author: Leather-Monkey ![]() Posts: 2266 |
I doubt the demo will have multi-player, online or offline. Or does it? The brief description the game gives you mentions online play. Also says somethin' about a reduced create mode. | 2009-09-06 02:04:00 Author: SLS10 ![]() Posts: 1129 |
The brief description the game gives you mentions online play. Also says somethin' about a reduced create mode. i think you only get a few handpicked community levels(125?) instead of all of them and no create mode | 2009-09-06 11:31:00 Author: Unknown User ![]() |
Yeah the interesting detail here is "a few community levels picked from the over 125MM levels created online." This quite inevitably means "no online" for the demo. But it also mean something even more fun --- WHO ARE THE PICKED UP CREATORS? I would drool to see one of my levels in the demo. . | 2009-09-06 22:20:00 Author: RangerZero ![]() Posts: 3901 |

If you look on youtube youll see very short(15-30 sec) clips of some of the GOTY levels. You know the guy that made the level called Magic Carpet and Little Skull? I think he might be one of the creators. YouTube - LBP bonus level GOTY edition | 2009-09-08 11:52:00 Author: Unknown User ![]() |
Great find I see in the menu Until the cows come home by Geosautus Tales of the Little Big Crystal by X-Nobody X Bunnies in Space by Foofles Video of Creator Interviews just below the Play option. | 2009-09-08 14:41:00 Author: zekeike ![]() Posts: 71 |

Here we are talking about the demo and wondering what are the picked up level for the demo, not the GOTY edition of the game. The GOTY edition contains 18 new levels that are NOT online and exclusive to that version of the game. The demo will contain a bunch of user levels from the online and offer them offline in the demo. So this is not the same thing. . | 2009-09-08 18:00:00 Author: RangerZero ![]() Posts: 3901 |
