Some say they know the worst band in the world. Then they put on some hardcore rock song by g@y bands like slipnuts, linking parts, drangonr*pe, etc... but im sure not even THEY will prepare you for this... horror. good lord D: my ears! who the heck told them they were good at playing guitar / drums?! better yet, who told them they were good at SINGING?! it honestly sounds like they just wrote some lyrics, went on stage and winged it. no practice. i cant even begin to say what i want to about how bad that was EDIT: i looked them up on wikipedia. apparently, people actually enjoyed their music. people said that they actually accomplished what they called "originality". i could give three 6 year olds guitars and a drum set, and i could get basically the same sound >_> apparently, people liked them so much, other bands worked together to make a "the shaggs" tribute album. it was called "Better Than the Beatles" ... im still confused by this.

Also, they were strumming the guitars in time with the syllables with random chords and were all the words recorded separately or something? YouTube - Black Out Band's "Video Games" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bou3SLqT2AY) Lol, I figured out that whole song on guitar in about 10 seconds, then I made a death metal version of it .

Worst opener ever, awful drum, weak guitar, and very flat lyrics simply make this song unbearable! The funniest thing about this, too, was that I've heard this song before from somewhere .... oh yeah, a friend said it was the WORST SONG ON PLANET EARTH . I've also Wiki'd them. Turns out this song is their best known and appeared in an album called "Better than the Beatles".... seriously, they should've just given up when they had the chance.

The Shaggs... well, that's a whole nother story. Electronic music is far more complex than that pop-punk **** we hear on the radio, and the Beatles aren't the number one band in the world for nothing; no one will ever surpass them.

It's not more complex than Metal (other than nu-metal) or good hard rock (Guns N Roses anyone? the old ones at least) pop-punk, ska-punk, hard metal, grindcore, hardcore, death metal, screamo, folk rock, glam rock, pogressive rock, arena rock, punk rock, new wave, post punk, glam metal, grunge, britpop, post grunge, nu metal, garage rock, metal core, dance punk, new rave - HOWEVER YOU CALL IT, all involve a guitar, bass, simple drums, and a vocalist. the only thing different is how they use it. oh, and i didnt say you like pop-punk btw. i really dont classify music.

Hrmmm... people need to think about what they're saying here. Complex music isn't necessarily "better" than simple music. Lots of the Beatles music was fairly basic in the arrangements, but lots of it was different to anything that came before it. It was like an evolution of old blues and pop music. Another thing is, "Better/Superior" music isn't what everyone wants. Most people want something within their comfort zone. They don't want to listen to something that sounds alien to them. They want to listen to something that sounds familiar, but maybe has a catchy tune or clever lyrics that say something about pop culture. Thats what all the top 10 artists have been doing for almost 30 years... and thats all it takes to be Kanye West or Mika >_> Half of Electronic Music is really all about innovation and development. Its all about pushing the boundaries of what music is. Making music out of something that doesn't sound like any noise on earth is... pretty sublime. But the other half of Electronic Music is based on dance. They supply beats for people to dance to in clubs. And thats really as far as that stretches. Most of it is set at the exact same BPM and some of it is interesting but as with everything else, lots of it is chronically boring. Talking about any form of Pop music in a belittling manner is just stupid because Pop means POPULAR. Which also means MONEY. Most people in the music industry probably don't give a crap about the quality of their music as long as people are buying into it. Also, you're just gonna come across as an elitist when you dismiss everyone else's favourite genre of music as crap /rant I thought the Shaggs did a pretty good job =_=
