What is this bulls***?!?!?! Level Deleted Randomly
Archive: 9 posts
I have some very troubling news Last night, I was working for about 5 hours on my newest level, and when I turned my PS3 on this morning, ALL OF MY WORK HAS BEEN DELETED. All the objects I captured, the new level that I made (and loaded), all the stickers I made, the icon I set for my level reverted, the description got wiped, the name got deleted, and both my pod and my costume all reverted. THIS IS BULLS*** I spent upwards of 5 hours creating concept posters, and now they're GONE. They were perfect before, but now they mysteriously disappeared. Mm needs to patch the game for more profile space, to delete levels that WE'VE MADE on OUR MOONS (stored on OUR harddrives) is complete bull... I'm delaying the level indefinitely at this point, it was supposed to launch today, but now I need to remake all the concept art from scratch When will more profile space come? This is critical to me | 2009-09-02 17:33:00 Author: Aurongel Posts: 221 |
wait, do you get the profile is full thing? or maybe It's Firmware 3.0, some people are having problems since that came out. Mm said the next update will up the profile space by 256%! I need this too. | 2009-09-02 17:36:00 Author: MarkoWolfy Posts: 445 |
This happens periodically since launch. (Actually it was ALOT worse before Cornish Yarg last spring). Sometimes it looks like the save went ok but there's actually an error. When you reload it an older version of the save you have there --- basically, it didn't save. The only thing you can do is to ALWAYS publish your stuff online but locked when you're about to quit the game. Also, you should back-up your save file periodically in case you ever lose the whole thing. . | 2009-09-02 17:39:00 Author: RangerZero Posts: 3901 |
Yeah, I've lost a whole day's work before too - not a happy next day. Leerdammer is suppose to up profile space though. | 2009-09-02 17:40:00 Author: Jagrevi Posts: 1154 |
Leerdammer is suppose to up profile space though. Where did you hear this? I knew more space was coming, but about LD? | 2009-09-02 18:06:00 Author: Unknown User |
Where did you hear this? I knew more space was coming, but about LD? It was on Mm Podcast 3, look it up on their website. | 2009-09-02 18:17:00 Author: MarkoWolfy Posts: 445 |
Always, always, always save a copy of the level on MM's servers by publishing a locked level. There's no way to lose it in this way. | 2009-09-02 18:23:00 Author: comphermc Posts: 5338 |
The not saving thing happened to me a few weeks back. Luckily I didn't do much work on the level but I did lose the costume I had made which annoyed me pretty much. | 2009-09-02 18:32:00 Author: persona3fan93 Posts: 155 |
Always, always, always save a copy of the level on MM's servers by publishing a locked level. There's no way to lose it in this way. Unless their servers crash. But in all seriousness, this and backing up your data to a external hard drive or flash drive is the best you can do. I design software from time to time, and you always have to save your work in a bunch of different mediums and locations, because you never know what will happen. | 2009-09-02 20:38:00 Author: BSprague Posts: 2325 |
