Very basic platformer with numerous bosses, simple puzzles, and a variety of challenges.

lol that was a cool level! I liked the humor and the light-heartedness. I'm proud to say that I made it to #3 on the score board! I didn't have any problems playing the level, so I can't really say much other than good job! Definitely a fun level!

A fabulous level!!!

I loved every second of it and its colourness! The level was extremely pleasing!
You managed to use the 50+ layer glitch very good, indeed, wich made the level even better!
I think that the only thing that needs to be done is that you have to show when the paintinator arrives, when you're fighting Mr. Star. If it already does, I must have pressed the circle-button without nowing it.

Thanks for the comments, I'll check out your level later today or tomorrow.

It might not be noticeable at first but after the first phase, it gets darker and spotlights are swinging on the sides shining on the newly spawned paintinator. A rather subtle hint...If I get more similar feedback I'll definitely look into making it more obvious.

Thanks for playing! Try my other level if you want more of a challenge. It is pretty much the polar opposite of this level in all of its glory.

I love spending time in the clouds so this was just my kind of level . A little on the easy side but that fit the visuals and atmosphere. The gameplay was fun and varied and the enemies were easy but creative and original. A little longish but entertaining enough to keep me until the end. Level has a lovely look but I thought the square castle or walls towards the end could have been more ornate.

I didn't know what ruse meant and after I have looked it up I still don't get the title . I wouldn't have played it if you hadn't put up some pictures, but I still think you could put up few more and also a longer description.

ruse [rooz] - Noun - an action or plan intended to mislead someone [Old French]

n ruse [ruːz] - a clever trick or plan.

Yeah this level is definitely easy. That was my intention. I have made a couple levels and all of them ended up very difficult for others. My level prior to this one, The Glorious Matter Transformation, I thought was a step in the right direction for a well balanced level in regards to difficulty but many had trouble or got frustrated and never finished. Try that one if you want a more challenging level.

It is pretty much impossible not to finish this level based on difficulty.

Hello ElGueroGigante,

I've just finished your level and I must say I'm truly amazed.

I've been looking for flaws the entire game and didn't find one single thing that annoyed me.

I really love your use of color and 3D layer glitch, everything looks pretty and polished.

The boss battle were entertaining, not to difficult not to simple.

Also, big kudos on the part were you have to put all different block colors in the right order. I accidently destroyed 2 of those blocks and was very happy to see they were immediately spawned again. The glass although didn't go low enough in my opinion, I always had to wait 2 up and downs before getting the block over. One turn to get me on it and block it, and the 2nd turn to get the block over it.

Also at the end there's 2 mini soldiers protecting the star,when you kill their brain they don't die, I suppose that was intentional but it looks a bit weird.

Other then that very nice job and I'm appalled to see there's only that many views and hearts, while it deserves much more.

Yeah those last two soldiers are connected to the first phase of the boss because of the second phase would probably cause them to tip over. I figured that most would kill them first and then move on to the rest of the boss, but I didn't want to take any chances.

I'll see if I can make the white platform/elevator go a little more down as I have also noticed that it is impossible to push the blocks rather than pull them onto the lift.

Very good level, well thought out in deisng, and story. Very colourful, well designed and not too easy.

On the final boss battle, the minions would often kill me as soon as i jumped onto the platform/When i didn't realise to grab the sun and tried jumping on their heads. On the second stage, the poison gas where the flaming logs are fired from occasionaly kills you with the poison, even when you're not falling down them.

This is an area that I have been meaning to tweak but just haven't gotten to it yet. I plan on reducing the amount of flaming logs being shot upwards and making the gaps larger along with the flaming logs.

Thanks for bringing up the minions! I was thinking about reducing their range so that the player has more room to jump up onto the platform. If anything, I will get rid of their vulnerable brain and put a spike on their head so that people won't try to use them as a boost. I didn't even think about that possibility.

I'll try to play your level later today or tomorrow.

I have tested your level and here is my feedback:

Gameplay (4/5): Good, good and good! I like jumping in the clouds and doing some puzzles. All clouds on which you jump are well located and the part with the colourful waterfalls is just awesome! Your level got good passages! Also the race is really well done and makes much fun.
The enemies are well designed and not too hard. The final one (star) is really good, but in the end it becomes a bit too hard with the small holes on the sides. Anyway the big castle is well made.

Story (5/5): I like the story with the moon, the sun and the star. It's a good idea and it's perfect for a clouds-level. The enemies fit, the ending is just great.

Scenery (5/5): The theme is good, you placed all colours and clouds well. The using of glass and grabable material is a good variation - awesome - beautiful level!

Result (5/5): A really nice level. I just love it!

Wonderful!
I loved your level, so simple yet so beautiful and "warm".
I don't know how but it managed to really caught me with the story, so I felt the urgency to run to Mr. Suns, Mrs. Moon and Mr.Stars to save them.
5 stars and a heart.

Very pretty level, liked the rainbows alot.

On the elevator where you have to arrange the colored blocks, I felt it needed a require all switch so other players could get on.

Other than that I liked the level

I originally had a require all switch but it made jumping off of the elevator onto the clouds hard in the same fashion where it is now hard for multiple players to get onto the elevator.

I think it is easier for players, or less frustrating, get onto the elevator together rather than timing a jump at the top of the elevator. I might just make a delayed reaction to resolve this.

Awesome level. 3D Could be more polished in some areas. Story was hilariously sad. I almost cried when Mr Moon was gone. Fun Gameplay.

Okay, as a f4f member I am more than happy to give my opinion on this level

First off all, let me say I really liked the story and the beginning was amazing.
It reminded me a bit of the playstation game kingdom hearts which also had dark atmoshpere caused by shadow creatures and it was happy again when they were defeated or gone.

anyways, beautiful intro, original story and refreshing visuals with all the colours of the rainbow , litterally

LIKES:

the rainbow waterfall was very nice to look at, the platforming in your level was also very good executed, not too hard but I suppose a very hard level wouldn't fit with the relaxing visuals

the part at the end where you had to put in all the cubes was nicely done, however I didn't get the rainbow coming down at first. Only after some more pushing did it work.

VERY nice boss battles

DISLIKES (a little bit) :

I don't know why, but I had the feeling the theming of the castle felt a bit rushed. Try using some different materials on that castle and some windows.
also try creating the door for real and paste it on. a 3d door looks cooler than just a sticker.

conclusion: 85%
beautiful level , refreshing visuals only at the end a bit lacking in that department.

What a great level! Such a happy feel to it. . . reminded me of mario sunshine. Very beautiful- lots of interesting rainbow ideas goin on. The game play was great- maybe a bit on the easy side but since its a longer level I don't think I'd want it to be much harder. And nice use of the 3d glitch! Thats gotta be the coolest glitch ever.

All i've got is a few asthetic/atmoshpere ideas to through your way- nothing that needs to change unless you like the idea. I had hoped that some of the mini bosses would be in black and white so I could restore color to areas again. You could also stick a constant "thunder" or "rain" sound on those guys. There are so many clouds to jump on in this level it would be cool if some of them rained, or made fluff sounds or had bits of fluff fly up when you jumped on them.

Nice job, hearts to you and your level.

Originally I was going to make each of the sub-bosses in black and white so that it seemed as though the monsters were sucking all of the color out of the level but changed it. Like all of my levels, I totally winged it as I went, always changing my ideas. I settled on making the first castle sackboy's, who controls the color, with the other castles and moon and star controlling other things such as night/day. Since the level is so colorful, my original idea was restoring the color throughout the level but again kind of changed as I went. I just might restore that because it does look cool.

The level is totally maxed out on the thermometer. I have been randomly trying the cut non-essential/out of screen things to save space so I can add more detail, but it can be a tedious trial and error process. Easiest way would be to eliminate point bubbles, but if anything I want to add more hidden point bubbles.

I love the idea of making some of the clouds rain. I originally was going to have a wind/cloud castle area with rain and maybe some kind of wind effect but the level was getting long. Sounds should be easy to add to the clouds, so I will experiment with that. Thanks for the idea!

awesome level i loved the visuals and style of it!

truly a happy level, and lives up to ur description [lol], but the only problem in this level is that about two times i wasn't sure what to do, but i got the hang of it in seconds, and im probably the only one with that problem otherwise, great job! awesome use of the layers glitch
