The Helga Series (VIDEO INCLUDED!)

Back in september when the lbp beta came out I made a dumb level with my friends called Helga's Rampage, where you had to get away from a giant weird monster thing. It was so unbelievably difficult that only myself and two other people could finish it out of all the people I played it with (a lot).

I don't have the level anymore as I decided to delete all my beta levels to start afresh (how I regret doing that) so my friends and I decided to make a new one, an enhanced remake of the original. I posted a video of it here back in November and it got some good comments, but standards are probably higher nowadays as levels are more advanced. Take a look and see what you think.

Now when the water update comes I plan on making a new level which would reveal more about Helga's origins etc in a hidden underwater cave off coast of a stony beach. I plan on creating a lot of different puzzles to solve along the way while adding more traps and obstacles, after all it is an underwater temple. The Helga series has always had an emphasis on HARD, so the theme will of course continue.
I am also planning to make one for the PSP version, too.

Does anyone have any advice for me, or any opinions on the project that you would like to share? I'd be very grateful to hear your feedback

Well, from a rookie's point of view, the level looks very challenging. I really enjoy the monster chase levels (Skulldozer!!). The spikes and rockslide were a nice touch, but I would enjoy a little more variety in the parts leading up to the encounter with Helga besides just placed jumping challenges. Good use of writing on the walls. Just enough to help the story but not so much that it got annoying.2009-09-02 22:49:00

Thanks for reading the thread, and that is some really good advice you've given me next time there will definetly be more variety throughout the level in the next one, i'm planning on adding some multiple paths too to find hidden prizes etc. Also, you're right about the jumping - I think the level could probably do with more grabbing challenges now that I look at it.
