An Ode to Pop-Ups!

Archive: 43 posts

I wanted to do some creating,
So I switched on the old PS3,
I loaded the disc in the socket
And sat with a nice cup of tea.

I pressed the appropriate button
Then landed right there on my moon,
Not in a particular hurry
'twas only 5 minutes past noon.

I'd only just opened my popit
When there was a flash on the screen
To show me a random notation
Of where someone else had just been.

"That's useful" I find myself thinking
"And what a high score they did get"
Then aimlessly back to my popit
For I haven't built anything yet.

Now just as I'm choosing my item
And placing it where I think fit,
Aparently 'Billy_no_Brainer'
Has published 'The Bomb In The Pit'.

"Oh goody, I'll play that one later
Must crack on and make a few props."
So out comes a piece of pink floaty
And once again everything stops.

So now who has scored a Gagillion
As if I am caring a lot
I just want to finish my level
But now I am losing the plot.

I can't think of what I was doing
It's now gone way past a joke
And if anymore pop-ups confront me
The console will sadly be broke!

It's now I am planning to render
My pals with a terrible plight
I'm going to click on 'remove from'
My friends list bids me 'Good Night!'

LOL That was hilarious . The only notifications I like are when levels get hearted or someone publishes a level, why do I need to know the score someone gets?2009-08-31 04:28:00

beautiful, pure poetry (of course ). I also particularly loathe when it does things like "____ has gotten a score of _____ on your level ____" then, "____ has gotten a score of _____ on level _____" (your level)2009-08-31 06:31:00

.....
......
.......

What the hell does that mean!?

Yes, i love poems that are simple and to the point, well done Icey! I acturally played your The Snow Queen Trilogy again right before i opend this post... werid hun?

That's brilliant, Icey, and very true!

For a little shy-girl you sure are talented in loads of ways - I'll bet you make a mean Lemon Meringue pie too!

I once had a dog named Dax
Owner of the cutest little snout
He was awesome, awesome to the max
He's dead now and I miss the little sprout

Peace out y'all!!

(Never let me do that again)

I love all the poems you've written,
They have a particular ring,
And if you think Zwollie's is awesome,
Just wait till you hear that guy sing!!!

Nah, Icey didn't mean that, Zwol - everyone knows you're the Jeroen Bon Jovi of LBPC!

Shot to the heart, and Zwollie's to blame,
You give lurve a bad name.

Now you just made it worse by bringing Bon Jovi into this.

Back on topic: lovely poem, lovely poem indeed.
We should have a poem-off, that would have hilarious yet touching results!

I declare Icey the winner!

Plus she has the custome title 'Thrupny Bit' - which is the funniest thing I've seen today - nearly spat my tea out - again! I can't beat it, unless I change my user name to MrsSpookyBoob!

Every, time I think I've got a hold on this-here language barrier someone says or does something which sends me back to the labs...

The poem, is good... I found myself laughing at the truthiness you can wring from it-- However, a non-LBPer, would find it denser then the Amazon... It is most assuredly and insiders' specific rhyme...

Now, back to the topic at hand () Your thrupny bits! Make yet another appearance... Now, if my understanding is as I think it is... This is some of the most colourful language (...albeit blue) I have ever read on lbpc! Talk about wrestling with one's imagination! This is the language of poetry, this is creative communication unfettered by the delivery system. This is the icey-dicey picture me-likey in my mind.

I will be in, if so invited by the maiden of ICE...

(as to not be left out in the cold- yet bask in the glory of her thrupny-bit, and like a schoolboy do as I am told... I would not falter in my appointed rounds and would continue to improve with time, until such time... enraptured in time, Time recounted our countenance!) ...[perhaps poetry isn't my thing]

...if there is ever a lyrical poem-off!

Ha! Love it! Here's one right back at ya Icey Babee...

I love our little Icey,
Her posts leave me in bits.
They tend to go all spicey
When she talks about her....

Umm... that didn't go quite as planned!

I feel a LBPC musical coming on......

Icey:
Who can take a sunrise
Sprinkle it in dew
Cover it in chocolate
and a miracle or two?

Zwollie:
Spookyboob?

Spookyboob can
Spookyboob can cause she mixes it with love and makes the world taste good...

Icey:
"Who can take a rainbow
Wrap it in a sigh
Soak it in the sun
and make a strawberry lemon pie?"

Zwollie:

Spokyboob can cause she mixes it with love and makes the world taste good...

Absol-booby-lutely hilarious! Brilliant!

I'm off to wex's 'Ideas for a level name' thread. I think we should merge the two!

Imagine... all spots to black... the music ominously starts... and then we see...

wexfordian presents...

The player descends into the level, and past the title screen...

The Adventures of MrsSpookyBooby: The Search for Icey's Thrupnies

And then, a teaser trailer for part two called...

Ooh, Found 'em!

Ha ha ha - sorry, I really can't stop laughing. Brilliant stuff, this thread has really made my day. Thanks
