Falling flower petals

Hi all,

I'm look for a way to make a falling flower petals effect. Like with cherry blossom trees.

I need the petals to fall slowly on the ground and i can't figure a way to recreate this. I saw people do it with snow so i'm sure it's possible (The ice queen trilogy for e.g.).

If you know how please help me out ^^

Attach a flower/leaf decoration to a small/thin piece of light material (like polystyrene). It will fall slowly to the ground. The challenge is then getting them to fall in a nice pattern. You'll have to set up a bunch of emitters and mess with the sync to get it to look right2009-08-30 13:43:00

Or you can use a piece of pink floaty, with varying amounts of a heavier material added to it. This way you can make some objects fall faster or slower than others for a more random look.2009-08-30 14:08:00

Thank you both, after searching for a while I found an even better way.

What I did was take a small Led light, make it very small, attach a flower to it and tadaa!

I pressed play and it fell gently on the ground

That's a good solution, though if you emit it too much it might eat up your thermometer, so you might want to be weary of that.
