YouTube - Michael Moschen Performs with One Crystal Ball Its Michael Moschen, the inventor of contact juggling. Just something cool to share with y'all. You might be familiar with his work if you saw a certain film staring David Bowie. . . cause those are Michael's hands in the film. I taught myself a few of these tricks. Lol, but I couldn't juggle like a normal person to save my life! | 2009-08-28 00:09:00 Author: squirlin Posts: 224 |
Impressive, but I like this guy better: YouTube - Contact Juggling | 2009-08-28 01:20:00 Author: comphermc Posts: 5338 |
The first guy was impressive, but... Wow! That second guy is incredible! That's really cool. I can juggle, but it's the tossing kind, and I never got above 3 objects. I can do pins, though. now, I have to watch that second post again. | 2009-08-28 10:14:00 Author: swanbrown Posts: 898 |
Lol, yeah. . . a lot of people have taken the art of contact juggling and mastered quite a few things. Don't count the first guy out though. . . he invented what the second guy is doing! My guess is its an older video, perhaps I should have found one where he is manipulating multiple spheres. I'm pretty sure he does so in the movie I was talking about earlier. . perhaps I can find some more short clips and post them here later. Also- if you've ever been to black rock city (the Burning Man festival), its a great place to see contact jugglers and fire jugglers first hand. LBP reminds me of that place in so many ways. Anyways thats pretty cool that you can do some regular juggling. . with pins no less! I never was able to get more than 2 bean bags going. . . and even then I was alway dropping em. | 2009-08-28 14:55:00 Author: squirlin Posts: 224 |
Wow, they're both very impressive . thanks for sharing that guys. I hadn't even heard of that before let alone seen it. They're both brilliant but I did prefer the first one. It just looked a bit more polished and professional although the camera work in the second one didn't help. | 2009-08-28 15:50:00 Author: mistervista Posts: 2210 |

You are absolutely correct that he did it first. I remember seeing the first telecast of him doing it about 16 years ago with my Dad and my girlfriend at the time and he was doing it with 8 spheres (4 in each hand). I remember her trying to figure out how he was doing it and she insisted in all her wisdom that the clear resin balls must somehow be magnetised to make them stick together (yeah I know... but she was an Ottawa Rough Rider cheerleader so cut me some slack). Her theory was blown to smithereens when he began breaking the pyramids apart one by one and sent the balls rolling away. EDIT: This is the first show I saw him doing it that I mentioned above. Please excuse his poor taste in clothing... or lack thereof. YouTube - Michael Moschen-Part 2 | 2009-08-28 18:06:00 Author: Rustbukkit Posts: 1737 |

If you've never tried it before, I HIGHLY recommend juggling! It's almost zen-like. If I'm irked at someone, or otherwise miffed about something, I just take a few minutes, grab two or three things, and juggle for a bit. Calms me down and makes me feel good. It's really hard to feel bad while juggling---and I've tried. @Comphermc: that insane juggling vid is pure bliss! ---- Man, this site is so great! It takes everything joyful and good, and just mashes it all into my brain! I loveit! | 2009-08-28 23:18:00 Author: swanbrown Posts: 898 |

I wish I could do some normal toss juggling- within the past few months I've probably spent a few hours trying to get the hang of it. .. but to no avail. I remember back in elementary school we had a juggling lesson in gym. Everybody was given beanbags to practice with. . . If you're ever going to pick something up THATS THE TIME TO DO IT!!! (when you're really young) I must've been one of the few in gym that day who didn't leave with some basic juggling skill. | 2009-08-29 02:11:00 Author: squirlin Posts: 224 |
Hey squirlin, the hardest part is getting the transfer motion down. If you want to master that, work on juggling 2 objects with the same hand. Right before one reaches your hand, toss the other one up. Start with your dominant hand, and then try it with your weak hand. Once you get the motion down, use two hands to juggle two objects (there would be a delay for the missing third object). Only when you feel comfortable with that, move onto adding a third object. Good luck! I actually taught myself to juggle (no instruction at all) from doing the above. Speaking of which, it's been a while... *wanders off to find 3 objects* | 2009-08-29 02:20:00 Author: comphermc Posts: 5338 |
Whoa, youtube is amazing. Prepare to have your mind blown: YouTube - Michael Moschen performs THE TRIANGLE (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qjHoedoSUXY) Holy crap. That was unbelievable. The amount of focus he has to do so many things all at once is incredible. At points I can't even see him catching the balls, it's like he's not even doing anything but he is, just so damm fast. These are awesome, i never seen stuff like this before Nor have I. who can juggle in this forum? I can hardly juggle even 2 things at once. D: | 2009-08-29 02:42:00 Author: ChristmasJew Posts: 431 |
Okay, here's something I've never even heard of before; pen juggling? YouTube - AMAZING CONTROL/JUGGLING OF PEN Maybe it's just in my mind, but it'd be soo cool to be able to do that! "hey, can I borrow your pen?" *whipity fwip, fwip!* "Sure, here you go." ---edit There's some tutorials you can jump to from this. I tried and managed to get a couple of spins. I Also learned a valuable lesson: Start with an unsharpened pencil. | 2009-08-29 10:18:00 Author: swanbrown Posts: 898 |
