Hi, I'm working on a new level and I need tips on how I can make my level fun. What makes a good Adventure level and at the same time a mysterious one? I want to make my level fun but at the same time very mysterious. What should I do or make to make it happen? I am kinda stuck in the beginning because I dont really know what to put next. | Certainly if your level is less action and more suspense, the visuals and ambience are going to have a lot to do with it. For instance, a creepy atmosphere with mysterious sounds. Also, if you were going to design a level like that designing out a story board before creating will probably help. | I am planning to make my gameplay adventure like and not make it hard. I am trying to make the gameplay stick to the story so it would make sence. I always find it easier to stick to a theme, and then you can plan your story from there. Do you want small goals or 'side quests'? Why is the player there? Are they rescuing someone? It may sound funny, but I plan on paper first. Just simple sketches planning out rooms or areas, and what's happening in these places. Then, when you start building, you can make sure you include everything you want to. And if you struggle, just remember players like to see a beginning, middle and end!
