Character Design Contest (ROUND 3 ENDED; RIP CRAZYMARIO; JAGREVI TAKES OVER)

| http://i31.tinypic.com/2jbut20.png Round 3 Welcome to Round 3 of the Character Contest! You may enter at any time during the round! Directions 1. Following the theme, create a character in create mode. 2. Put it in a blank level. 3. Publish that level. 4. PM me the level info and/or post it in this thread. 5. If you are a winner, make your level copyable for two days. Rules 1. The character must be created during the contest period. 2. No magic mouths should be on the character. 3. No bombs should be implanted in the character. 4. No brains (of any kind) should be on the character. 5. The character may not kill a sackperson in any horrible, bloody, murderous way. 5. The character must have a name. The level title should have the character's name in it. 6. Bolts of any kind are fine. All connectors are allowed. 7. Sensor/mag-key switches are allowed. 8. Only TWO entries per person during a round. 9. If you are switching out an entry, please specify which one you are switching out. Judging 1. Each judge will give each entry a rating based on CREATIVITY. 2. Ratings from each judge will be averaged. 3. The top 3 highest rated characters win. DLC Allowed -Metal Gear Solid Level Pack -Monsters Medium Pack -Shadow of the Colossus Mini Pack Judges -Empty Spot (cannot be taken at this time) -Silverleon -LittleBigSackBoy -Jagrevi -KoRnDawwg If you want to become a judge, just say so before the round starts. (You may only become a judge if there is an "Empty Spot") Prizes The winner will have their character a main character of Project "Final Sack". Current Theme Monsters that are weird... | @IceMaiden I have just checked out Count Stefan in his lair and he?s fantastic! I loved how authentic you managed to make the vibration of his wings. Also, I am once again amazed at the amount of detail and effort you have put into the background. It looks just like a proper level. My favourite bit was the bridge. It could have come straight from the Yorkshire Dales! There?s just one thing lacking, though . What it needs to make it a haunt of true evil is a rusting Dolly Tub lying in a dark corner where someone has fly-tipped it, half-submerged in mud, dented, door hanging open, but still with an evil glint in its chrome fittings, waiting for some small innocent creature to take shelter in its drum! | Mr Stefan Fly is flyming brilliant, with his rotting apple and bruised banana, which are both handy little steps for getting up onto his back for excellent photo opportunities! The detail that Icey puts into her character levels is just amazing, in both the character and the scenery. The bridge, the water, the ivy, ferns and grass and everything else is just epic. So if it comes down to it, I think finding a quick volunteer judge might be less biased ... you already know how disseperate the current "scores" are, which I don't think the judges should be privy to when they create their scores. | It may not be a big consolation but don't forget that the contest has also given those watching from the sidelines, like me, a great deal of pleasure and countless lolz! It's also been a fantastic showcase for the talent you guys have! It's been great to see creators doing something different from their trademark style, too ? it really demonstrated people?s range and versatility (and sense of humour!). In other cases, where I hadn't seen people's work before, it has made me want to go and check out full levels they've made. So, as jwwphotos said, you're all winners really - congratulations everyone! | Great points everyone! Yup, I had a blast so it really doesn't matter to me. As I said before, I am very thankful for crazymario putting these on as I was always a bit timid to want to make characters. I always felt more comfy making scenery, set pieces, vehicles, and contraptions. Having only done one character ever before, I took on the contest as a way to discover what I could do and was really excited at the results. In fact my entries for the first two rounds had me laughing hysterically the entire time I was making them!! The only issue I have is if CM doesn't show up there is nothing for the judges to decide on what to do with the characters. I think at this point it is up to the creators to use them as they please. If you read his last few posts, CM's lack of interest tells me it is doubtful he will do anything with the winners from the prior rounds as well. I am hoping we can have a new contest that distributes XP to the winners like we do with other contests. I have really enjoyed the competition and camaraderie of all the creators during these rounds. | (I just wanted to say it was my real good fortune... not entering this round.) As such, I just had the opportunity to go through and experience each of your creations. Although I tried to go in with no preconceived ideas, (I really did try!) I must admit I was surprised. Surprised @ how the character contest grew and what ultimately became of it... but more so, how all of you have grown. I really feel honored. There are some great characters in the bunch... and that's just not lip service. And some of the showcases for these great characters are simply better than anything I will ever create... and there just throwaway showcases! He just got us to make characters for his levels without as much as a thankyou and now he has what he wants he conveniently disappears. Although I enjoyed making characters for the first 2 rounds anyway and it was fun to see all the brilliant creations from everyone I didn't take part in this final round because I simply got fed up with crazymario's attitude and his failure to do what and when he said he would. As far as I see it all the creations are yours anyway so he has no 'rights' to them. If he comes back now he'll just have to abide by what the present judges say. If he can't be bothered to show his face then he has no say in the matter. I did say right from the beginning of this contest after seeing the first few creations that we should make a museum level/s for them as it was a shame to just make stuff for him and then have most of them wasted. | TIME IS ALMOST UPON US - "OFFICIAL" STATEMENT - FEEDBACK REQUESTED Ok, I'll give Frinklebumper a few more hours or so to get in his judge scores - otherwise I'm just going to announce the winner as the person who has the highest combined score SO FAR on the piece of paper in front of me. That's right, I'm holding what is currently the name of winner in my right hand ... well, I was, but obviously I put it down just now to type this. This will be the winner unless I hear from Frinklebumper, as his/her scores may change that.Frinklebumper has a few more hours or so to report in, however, please let me know if you think he/she should be afforded more time. The winner will be announced via the following format (again, please dispute the format if you see fit as we unfortunately cannot go by the original format, obviously) ... 1) The top 5 entries actual scores will be posted. This is the sum of the individual scores (on a 1 to 10 scale from each individual judge. Me and the three volunteer judges - two if Frinklebumper does not report in time). Other scores will not be posted, but if you are not in top 5 and really want to know what your score was, you can PM me. I will do my best that the winner of this round receive a prize as close as possible as to what was promised by the original "contest runner" - although I obviously cannot promise you a place in his "project", which unfortunately I think we can assume is dead in the water. However, I have been working diligently on a very large project for a very long time, and if you're interested, perhaps we could work out something related to that in some way. I have to say I would be honored to be able to make sure alot of these creations get out there and appreciated. If not, I'm still sure we can come up with something. You have my personal guarantee that I will do my best to try to make sure these characters (at least the winners) "see the light of day". 2) If there are any ties, since crazymario is not here to "break ties" as originally outlined, "I" will add a half of a point as a tiebreaker to one of the given entries. I am VERY sorry that I have left you all without proper notice. I feel ashamed of myself. To be truly honest, I need to focus on MY life right now, I never have time to play LBP, or go onto LBPCentral every single day. Not only that, but I also simply don't feel like playing LittleBigPlanet. I can't ever think of anything to create, I already beat the game 100%, and there aren't ever any good, original levels anymore. The game feels pretty much, at the very least, wiped out. In fact, I haven't touched the PS3 in AGES, I've been playing the other two consoles.As for me "bringing my rage upon you all", there is only one little post that really ticks me off: I wouldn't worry about that. I do remember being taught, when I was little, that making assumptions about other people, like the example above, is just simply plain rude. You ARE older than me, are you not? I already have enough stress in REAL life, could you please go easy on me? What made you think that I wouldn't someday read this? The post IS somewhat true, however. I HAVE abandoned the contest and the LBP project "conveniently". However, it wasn't intended AT ALL. I have enjoyed every single entry, and I have enjoyed running this contest until this round, in which everything in my real life started plummeting, and I simply couldn't run it anymore. Since the winners of these rounds haven't gotten their prize, I will give every single one of them the proper fraction of ALL my EXP, no repeats on people that won twice.
