Did you try turning it on with the PS3 controller? You can both turn the PS3 on with the controller and eject the disc from the XMB. Just hold in the PS button to turn it on, then go over to the Games section of the XMB, select the disc options with Triangle, and then select Eject.2009-08-25 21:44:00

You are never supposed to shut off a running PS3 from the back, that's the quickest way to fry it and/or your game data that it may have been reading and writing.

You could have swipped that button sensor thingymcjiggy.

Turn everything of at the cable that its plugged into, and turn it of at the back first.

Try it 2 hours later.

Yes, there was. You hold the touch on/off button for a few seconds and it beeps a couple times, then the PS3 shuts off, freeze or no freeze.

I'm going to diagnose your PS3 as dead. I've seen people shut it off from the back before, with the results ranging from corrupt game data, total restores necessary, and in your case, complete failure.

If it's dead, you might be able to open up the PS3 with a screwdriver, and take the disc out.2009-08-25 22:12:00

If your PS3 is beyond repair then I would suggest you check out Console Doctor online. My PS3 had the YLOD and my LBP disc was stuck in it. I sent it off to Sony with ?145 (ouch!) and had the console replaced the next day but had to wait 5 weeks for them to return the game, which was damaged and unplayable when I did get it back. Console doctor's much cheaper and you'll have to wait a bit longer for your console but at least you'll recieve game and console back at the same time.
If you're an avid LBPer then there's nothing worse than having your PS3 with no LBP to play on it.
Hope you manage to get it fixed soon. I'm feeling your pain!

Try plugging the controller in with the charger and turning on the console using the plugged in controller. That way the signal goes through the wire rather than wireless, which makes it easier for the PS3 to recognize it after it's lost power completely. If that doesn't work then it probably is the PS3.2009-08-26 23:10:00
