BODY HARVEST

This is the greatest N64 game ever released, i'll tell you what its about

station omega earth orbit 2016

the earth lies in ruins

over the past 100 years a vast
alien invasion has harvested
mankind to the brink of extinction

high above the dead planet, the
last survivors hatch a desprate
plan to halt the invasion at key points in earth's past

a prototype time travel vehicle is ready, it's crew
a team of geneticly enhanced soldiers is being prepared

but time has run out

the aliens have returned

and they're hungry

So in the future aliens take over the world by harvesting the humans, so you travel back in time to stop them yay

The aliens are look like super extreme 60 foot long bugs (and get bigger as you progress)
The gameplay involves talking to random civilians in cities to get clues to unlock: MEGA weapons, new areas, cool cutscenes, special vehicles etc
There are 5 times zones, each is a huge island about GTA:SA size!!!! as you progress fighting wave after wave of aliens you unlock more areas to explore, until, you reach a gigantic boss at the end of each time zone.

Cars, Guns, Gta style controls/cameras, big boss creatures, and huge maps

Ok so it was made in 1998 (i think) and aliens were cool at the time, also don't expect HD graphics, but still, for its time, this game is legend

I recommend this game to everyone because its awesome

PS theres much more to that backstory but it won't fit in this post

Dude I LOVED Body Harvest!! DMA Design, holdin' down the awesome fort! These guys would eventually go on to create a little franchise known as "Grand Theft Auto". You can see a bit of those future games in Body Harvest. Open-world, get into any vehicle. It was an incredibly forward-thinking game, especially considering it was one of the earliest games in development for the N64. Incredibly ambitious. I used to subscribe to Nintendo Power in those days, and they'd send a few VHS videotapes now and then. I got one before the N64 came out, with video from Pilotwings 64, Super Mario 64, Body Harvest, WaveRace 64... Of course it was at least a year after launch before Body Harvest actually came out...

I played through that game a few times. It had its share of glitches and rough controls. But it really was an incredible, ambitious, memorable game. They change up the pace, the different time periods you travel to are all incredibly unique and different from each other. My favorite was Java during WWII. Huge murky thunderstorm, sneaking into army bases, flying planes through the storm to little islands... Loved it.

The America during the 50s was pitch perfect, driving a cadillac around abandoned city streets with flying saucers and aliens attacking it. It was so awesome to drive around on the streets, turn a corner, and see a MASSIVE alien scorpion, as big as a city block, laying siege to the place.

Awesome game. I still have it in my closet right now!
