LBP Voice Over - HHGTTG
Archive: 26 posts
Okay so I'm sure a lot of people haven't read or seen or listened to The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. Okay, shutup I'm trying to turn this into a LBP thread. I'm focusing on the Movie here so here's a trailer. YouTube - Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy Movie Trailer Doesn't the, person I shall name The Guide, have a striking resemblance to the announcer on LBP? Just a little thought that like most other threads would have no actual benefit. And go read the book at least so you can learn how to hit the ground without actually hitting the ground, and accomplish, flight. And yes I am a Sci Fi nut if you can tell from my signature which is a reference to the episode Blink from Doctor who. | 2009-08-25 16:29:00 Author: Snappyguy Posts: 710 |
Same guy, Stephen Fry. IMDB Page (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000410/). | 2009-08-25 16:34:00 Author: comphermc Posts: 5338 |

Oh wonderful. Very talented and I'm sure I've heard him elsewhere. Thank you. | 2009-08-25 16:38:00 Author: Snappyguy Posts: 710 |
He used to do a lot of comedy with Hugh Laurie (from House). very funny stuff YouTube - Funny Hugh Laurie & Stephen Fry comedy sketch! 'Your name, sir?' - BBC comedy | 2009-08-25 16:43:00 Author: wexfordian Posts: 1904 |
And he's a technophile, which of course means that he's a really active twitterer. Really one of the few people on Twitter worth following. Oh, and Snappyguy, the quote is: "Don't blink. Don't even blink. Blink ? and you're dead." (If you were going for an actual quote, that is ? if the intention was just to have an somewhat obscure Who reference, then just ignore my nitpicking.) | 2009-08-25 16:54:00 Author: slutzinc Posts: 124 |
Ha! Genius. I'll have to change my name to *punches someone in face* I wrote that 10 minutes after watching the episode and still got it wrong. Didn't think anyone would get me. grrrr =P Edit: See now, caught up in the moment I just bought the Soundtrack, the Blu-Ray (very happy to see it got to blu ray) and a towel. Well the towel is one I'm bidding on. *loads shotgun* It's my towel by the way. And I was going to write and you'll be dead I remember but they zap you back in time. Which does result in death but I thought get you was it. | 2009-08-25 16:55:00 Author: Snappyguy Posts: 710 |

Well, I love Doctor Who and Blink in particular ? one of the best TV episodes ever written ? and I do have a tendency towards being anally retentive. Don't get your panties in a bunch over it. It's an honest and understandable mistake to have made, and now that you've corrected it (amost) no-one will know. | 2009-08-25 17:12:00 Author: slutzinc Posts: 124 |
Like the doctor said I look at time like a linear path. And that it's actually a ball of wibbly wobbly timey wimey stuff. Was that supposed to make sense? It's about time so I'd say it would | 2009-08-25 17:20:00 Author: Snappyguy Posts: 710 |
Stephen Fry is Awesome. Outside of the UK he doesn't seem to be that well known, but he's doe a few films and suchlike (V for Vendetta springs to mind and he's in the upcoming Alice in Wonderland film) I can't help but think he'd be a fascinating man to meet as well - he's just so incredibly intelligent. Thou Shalt Not Question Stephen Fry The film of The Hitch Hiker's Guide, on the other hand, really was quite bad. I much preferred the old BBC series adaption... | 2009-08-25 18:15:00 Author: rtm223 Posts: 6497 |
The film of The Hitch Hiker's Guide, on the other hand, really was quite bad. Finally, someone shares my sentiments. It was more weird than good. | 2009-08-25 18:17:00 Author: comphermc Posts: 5338 |
It was more weird than good. The books were weirder... | 2009-08-25 18:35:00 Author: rtm223 Posts: 6497 |
Yea it's weird and I much prefer the BBC Radio Drama version but it's HHGTTG and I can't help but love it. Campiness and all. Loved him in V for Vendetta. Great Film! | 2009-08-25 18:36:00 Author: Morgana25 Posts: 5983 |

I find it odd when people don`t know who he is. Obviously he`s not well known outside the UK, but I know people here who were excited about LBP purely because he was providing the voice over. If I ever needed to have someone narrate my life, it would, for a fact, be Stephen Fry. Sorry Optimus Prime. | 2009-08-26 02:05:00 Author: TheMarvelousHat Posts: 542 |
"I am V. At last you know the truth. You're stunned, I know. It's hard to believe, isn't it, that beneath this wrinkled, well-fed exterior there lies a dangerous killing machine with a fetish for Fawkesian masks. Vive la revolution!" | 2009-08-26 14:51:00 Author: frankysteinmark3 Posts: 19 |
Anyone been watching Stephen Fry in America? We're up to episode 3 here in Australia, and I must say that it is REALLY growing on me. Anyone who has ever heard Stephen Fry talk knows that he's an incredibly intelligent and well-spoken individual, hearing him travel around the United States and pontificate about the different people and places he encounters is a really enjoyable way to spend an hour. YouTube - Stephen Fry shoots a .44 Magnum - Holy mackerel! HOLY MACKEREL! lol | 2009-08-26 15:18:00 Author: CheesyMcFly Posts: 211 |
Stephen Fry IS the reason i bought LBP. It had just been released and I was at a friends house. He was like "look at this game!" I replied "Is that Stephen Fry?!" "Yeah" he said "Right, im off to Blockbuster" said I. Thanks Stephen! | 2009-08-27 05:39:00 Author: Mr_T-Shirt Posts: 1477 |

YouTube - Reasons to be Miserable (his name is marvin) Also I didn't know his name but here in Australia it's hard to keep up with British comedy. But fortunately Torchwood Children of Earth was fast tracked or something. | 2009-08-28 14:40:00 Author: Snappyguy Posts: 710 |
