Combining Same Material
Archive: 3 posts
I honestly don't even know how this can be useful, but there is a way to add material to the same material, same number of planes, and not have it combine as one object. Simply make the first section, (for the sake of being simple, make a 3 plane thick wood block) electrify it, add a 3 plane think circle of the same wood in the middle of the block. Delethalize the block, and there you go. Like I said though, I don't even know if this is useful, or unknown at all... | 2009-08-25 07:01:00 Author: ApellesJr Posts: 282 |
Yeah, I do this sometimes. It's mostly useful if you don't want to use the grid so you can put more complex shapes in (without having to make an object, copy it, cut out the shape and place it there. You can always use a different material and thn change it but I find this way to be a time saver. | 2009-08-25 07:32:00 Author: S-A-S--G-U-N-R Posts: 1606 |
Sorry, but I think my method is faster... Use a different material, and then change it to the desired material. It doesn't combine into one, and can be done without leaving the materials section: Place Object A with Material 1. Select Material 2 right next to Material 1. Place Object B within Object A. Select Material 1, and choose Material Changer. Change Material 2 to Material 1. Profit. | 2009-08-26 14:17:00 Author: comphermc Posts: 5338 |
