Rank the 8 story sections.

Archive: 14 posts

8. Gardens: Just boring and not much to do. It's an introduction though so I can't really blame it.

7. Wedding: The dark level where you lead the dog is a bit slow and not being able to see hazards gets frustrating. Skull Dozer is cool but too short. The Reception has a very random visual style that I don't care for although the level itself is pretty good.

6. Temples: The elephant level IMO is one of the least creative levels in the game. Dancer's Court goes on a bit too long and gets tiresome. Magician Palace is great though.

5. Metropolis: Really don't like the Subway sections where you go up/down the long shaft with gas vents. Just takes too long and I usually put my Sackboy off to the side and wait for it to finish. Construction site has too many flaming logs to jump over. Lowrider is cool though. Lots of cars to drive and clever uses of the car lifts.

4. Savannah: First level is fantastic but way too short. Meerkat is cute. Burning has alot of gameplay variety and great atmosphere.

3. Islands: Oni level is just awesome. Getting to fly around, go into a volcano, and a great boss fight too. The other two levels are fast paced and fun. Lots of circle sponges spinning you around. Always seems like you are moving which is good.

2. Wilderness: 4 levels here so that's a plus. Levels are complex and offer a real challenge that give you a great feeling of satisfaction when you complete them. Great music too.

1. Canyons: Fantastic all around. Great visuals, good lighting, nice variety in all 3 levels. Boom Town never gets old and has two great 2x challenges. Mines has carts that are always fun to ride in. Serpent is very clever but seems to suffer from lag alot when I play with multiple people.

I'm glad someone else likes the canyon levels! I played through everything in order to ace all the levels, and after my skills had improved from when I initially played them, they were a blast.

I'm even working on a canyon themed throwback level... I hope people respond well to it *crosses fingers*

My list would have to go like this, though:

Canyons
Wilderness
Islands
Aperture Science Series (lol)
Temples
Metropolis
Savannah
Wedding*
Gardens

*My favorite level from the wedding was the dog one! It was just so inventive, I loved it.

1. The Wilderness
2. The Temples
3. The Canyons
4. The wedding
5. The savannah
6. The Gardens
7. The Islands
8. The Metropolis

I hate the Islands and the Metropolis They're just so badly designed
(excluding The terrible oni's castle. Thats awesome)

The last is Metropolis...I don't like how the material are used, I don't like the background, I don't like the story and I don't like the music.
After I aced the levels I haven't touched them anymore.

I enjoy every other level in the same way, they're very unique, even the gardens, they are so simple and naive, with a good music and a light mood, you don't find anything like it in any other platform, they might look stupid and kiddish, but I found them very relaxing.

8. The Metropolis - Hated the music and the gameplay. entire set is boring

7. The Gardens - Boring, but very relaxing

6. The Islands - The second level is frustratingly horrible, the spinning wheels are just unnecesary in every way

5. The Wedding - Love the music in this theme, although felt jipped because the last level was really only a boss, and didnt include a real third level

4. The Wilderness - Great gameplay, bonus level, although not really designed to incorporate more that one person, which gets frustrating with more that one.

3. The Canyons - LOVED Serpent Shrine, although Boom Town had great atmosphere and style, it has terrible and frustrating gameplay

2. The Savannah - Loved everything about it, the music, the color scheme, everyything great

1. The Temple - Incredible atmosphere and my favorite music in the game, great and innovative gameplay.

Wow, i'd rate the Weddings as number 1 and the Canyons as number 8, the complete opposite of yours.

Actually, I agree with OmegaSlayer, the metropolis wasn't good.

Instead of ranking it from worst to best, I'm going to rank it from best to worst.

1.Wilderness. The theme is very interesting and designed very well. The storyline also reaches it's best and most interesting point during these levels, plus it includes fun platforming that is also challenging.

2.Wedding. I LOVE the wedding reception level for it's fast-paced, fun gameplay and unique visual style. It's just a shame that the level is short. The Darkness had some interesting gameplay and The Skulldoser was my second favourite boss in the game.

3.Gardens. Yes, I know it's somewhat bland and even boring, but I found it a great introduction to the gameplay and it's visual style is one of my favourites in the whole game.

4.Islands. The third level was very original and it was fun to fly to the next section in the balloon. The boss was also fun to beat. The second level, although the gameplay was repetitive, I found the visuals inside the dojo really good. The first level was one of my least favorites in the game, it just seemed like a bunch of objects put together to make a level.

5.Metropolis. I liked the city theme and the music has some of my favourite tracks in the game, and Lowrider has some of the most unique gameplay in the game. The Subway also had some great platforming, although it was very short. The boss of the third level was very innovative, but the platforming before the boss wasn't very imaginative.

6.Temples. I liked the Elephant temple and the Magician's Palace a lot, and they both had good visuals and fun gameplay, although The Dancer's Court dragged on a bit.

7.Canyons. I didn't really like the bomb-orientated gameplay of Boom Town and Serpent Shrine had my least favourite boss in the game, although The Mines was one of my favourite levels in the game, although it's just not enough to make up for the other two levels.

8.Savanah. If it wasn't for The Mines, I would have ranked this section at number 7. I really liked all three levels in The Savanah, but I found all three levels just a bit too short to be really enjoyed, plus I'm not too fond of the theme in these levels.

I wasn't very keen on the story levels at all they didn't offer much of a story for me and I have to admit I really disliked the Bunker in the Wilderness, I was saddened after someone helped me complete the level I didn't get that dreaded wheel near the end.
I so want to get that as an object so I could change all materials and blow it up lol

First of all I have to say that I enjoyed all of the Mm-levels very much but some sections were more appealing than others.

8. Metropolis (I just didn't like the theme, the materials and the music. And the gameplay is pretty annoying sometimes.)
7. Wilderness (I was really dissappointed when I realized that the snowy background was connected to a military theme. The gameplay and the music is really annoying in some parts (e.g the wheel))
6. Gardens (The look of the Gardens is great and "Tie Skipping" is my favourite minigame but the section is a little bit boring due to the fact that it's an introduction section)
5. Wedding (I love the Wedding Reception, but the other two levels aren't my favorites...)
4. Savannah (Kudos for the Swinging Safari and the Burning Forest)
3. Canyons (Boom Town is pretty and fun, the Mines are fun and the Serpent Shrine is beautiful but challenging)
2. Island (Endurance Dojo - one of the best levels, the other two levels are quite beautiful)
1. Temples (The Dancer's Court and the Magicians Palace are EPIC, the Elephant's Temple is really boring unfortunately)

8. The Temples (cool music but not much else)
7. The Canyons (let down because that mine level drags on for ages)
6. The Wedding
5. The Metropolis
4. The Islands (Oni level is amazing)
3. The Savannah (epic)
2. The Wilderness (the logic is cool )

8 Metropolis
Mainly because of the music.
The urban theme could have been used better than this I think..
I like the third level though.

7 Island
Cool levels, but I don't know, don't really enjoyed it...

6 Wilderness
Great and challenging levels but a little stressfull

5 Wedding
I love the wedding reception level!

4 Canyons
The three level are really good, my favorite being BoomTown

3 Gardens
My first contact with LBP so heart talks!

2 Temples
Great levels, great songs, great design!

1 Savannah
Great levels, great songs, great design... again!
