Beware... People on these forums hate bomb survivals... if you don't want to get lot's of posts about how bomb survival levels suck I'd delete this thread now...

I played this last night. For a bomb survival level it was well done. I liked how the point bubbles would drop in a little group in different places, and I liked there were additional rooms below that you could drop into as the surface got nailed - added a bit of variance.

Was there enough different to really set it apart from other bomb survival levels? Probably not. There wasn't anything really different aesthetically or gameplay-wise to really set it apart.

I personally think there could be ideas that would allow these kinds of levels not to become run-of-the-mill. Such as enemy insects you run into underground, caverns below the surface that add some more exploration, using a background elevator further down to allow throwing you up to the surface again and get situated on higher ground. Anything that can add to the strategy and make the gameplay "fair".		2009-08-27 15:06:00

I honestly can't find anything that this level does that ANY other bomb survival doesn't

I really don't know how to improve it, I think we just have to take levels like these for what they are

Played it.

-didnt get to the bottom (is there a bottom or end?)
-i thought there was too much heavy unexplodeable material such as the metals which got in the way and left a little less room for exploding.
-doesnt set itself apart from other bomb survivals.
-a bit boring cos nothing really happens.
-i like bomb survivals but there wasnt anything in this one to make me play more (lacks a bit of variety
-good for exploding. but need more exploding.
-more rooms
-is there like lava and stuff once you go deeper?
-personally i don't want to sit around waiting to die or waiting to go deeper while hanging from a ledge waiting for unsafe ground to be 'sploded. just take too long + nothing special to wait for.

otherwise a good but could be much better bomb level.
have you played desert survival 3? now thats a good level

Lighten up VV. If he wants to make a bomb survival level, that's his decision. LBP is about expressing yourself creatively, not catering to others' opinions. If he wants to make a level filled with 50 rocket cheetahs and no scoreboard, more power to him!2009-08-30 17:06:00

I have to agree with comphermc. This game is not about what everyone else wants you to make.

My kid loves bomb survival levels (me, not so much - but to each his own), and I'd be willing to guess that many of the creators that make them, also like to play them.

You know, my mother likes liver and onions. I hate it. But when she cooks it, I'm quite certain that she cooks it really well (given how my father eats it up like someone was gonna take it away from him). The fact that I hate it doesn't make the food bad or her a terrible cook. Just sayin'

So yes... please lighten up a bit. It's really very bad form (would be anywhere - but especially here at LBPC).

Many people didn't mind the concept at first, but then people just started churning them out one after another, almost carbon-copies of each other. I personally don't mind them, though I normally only play the Desert Survival Series of bomb survival levels. Well mine is pretty original, other bomb survivals you have to just not get killed, in mine you have to try and dig deeper and deeper to get to your goal (center).		2009-08-31 17:15:00

First, I think your level is very unique, and very fun, I like the way you put camera's around the level, it helps to give a view of whats going on. (especially when you go down that bit at the right).

I can't imagine the amount of times me and my mates tried to complete this thing Eventually I did complete it, I have also hearted it, this is the only Bomb Survival level I love. Can't wait for Mars, feel free to add me on PSN (although you probs won't )
