Water Logo! Photoshop test.
Archive: 17 posts
I decided to make a logo for the the Water beta in Photoshop. I admit I haven't spent very long on it (only 25 mins-ish) so it can be improved with feedback. I'm still a novice, so go easy... but what do you think? Ta-daa: http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/littlebiggallery/images/412/1_water.png | 2009-08-23 03:03:00 Author: alexbull_uk Posts: 1287 |

Eh great work!!! Are u sure you're a novice..?? Cause you use photoshop in very professionnal way, very clean and with taste (no bright RGB colors or excessiv use of ugly filters...) Really nice! Now all I can is that its so very close to the Media Molecule one, that comparaison can not be avoided Sure they are professionals, and they have extended photoshop tools and filters, and even 3D programms, so their aqua effect is better... I think that you should not drop a shadow under the letters, cause it make them visually heavier, and they look like they're lying on something. For a better aqua effect, maybe try some brigther blue gradient/colors, more contrasted... By the way, for those "WATER" letters, did you find the same font that MM one? Can you tell me its name? ..or did you redrawn them..? | 2009-08-23 03:59:00 Author: dajdaj03 Posts: 1486 |
By the way, for those "WATER" letters, did you find the same typo that MM one? Can you tell me its name? Typo means spelling mistake, what you're looking for is the font Anyway, this looks really nice. Did you make the whole thing from scratch? | 2009-08-23 09:50:00 Author: Comet Wolf Posts: 99 |
Typo means spelling mistake, what you're looking for is the font you're right.... fixed! | 2009-08-23 13:23:00 Author: dajdaj03 Posts: 1486 |
you're right.... fixed! Yeah, It's the same font Mm use. It's called "Omnes". You can get it from this very site if you search for it. I made everything from scratch, by the way And, I'll remove the drop-shadowing. EDIT: Alright, I've removed the drop-shadow, slightly modified the colour and ever-so-slightly changed the waves. Here we go: http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/littlebiggallery/images/412/2_water.png I'm still not happy with the colour of the word "Water", though. | 2009-08-23 14:13:00 Author: alexbull_uk Posts: 1287 |
Eh good, i think it's better without shadow! For the color....well... maybe a little too green on this one... By the way, what does it mean: "I made everything from scratch"..? My english need improvement  | 2009-08-23 15:07:00 Author: dajdaj03 Posts: 1486 |

My english need improvement  I'll try and make the colour better And by "I made everything from scratch" I mean that I made everything in the picture. No copying-and-pasting. EDIT: New colouring. What about this? Here we go!: http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/littlebiggallery/images/412/3_water.png I do admit that I traced the LittleBigPlanet logo, though. | 2009-08-23 15:27:00 Author: alexbull_uk Posts: 1287 |

If you want the word 'water' to ahve a more watery effect, i would suggest grabbing a stock photo of a lake or river, and applying it over the top of the text layer, set the transparency around 40/50% and maybe put the efect on overlay or screen, that might help a bit. Other than that though, good job | 2009-08-24 00:22:00 Author: Unknown User |

Other than that though, good job I'd thought of that, but on testing it, I found out that it doesn't look as good as you'd hope. Thanks though Looks nice, very good. It can look really good, you need to get it just right though, or as you said, it doesn't look like you want.... | 2009-08-24 19:08:00 Author: Unknown User |
