European T.V. Ads Info
Archive: 10 posts
I was just contacted by someone who works for 'www.thinkmeetsdo.com'. This apparantly is the company that worked with Mm to make the european T.V. adverts. He basically explained how they made the ads and I thought i'd share it here. Its not that interesting to be honest, but when you enjoy making films, or just watching the adverts (like me), then its good to know. www.thinkmeetsdo.com ideas section - littlebigplanet directing & animation - fart planet we made up these people - dean, tak, murry etc - then built levels with media molecule as if we were those characters Played your tribute levels - well done, they are really good. So Mm didn't make the epic levels in the ads on their own. | 2009-08-21 12:52:00 Author: Leather-Monkey Posts: 2266 |
I personally never thought they did. It's rare that a company will do all of their advertising solely from within their own walls. It is great to get a behind the scenes look so to speak. i thought it was interesting that Killzone and inFamous were up there too. | 2009-08-21 12:56:00 Author: BSprague Posts: 2325 |

Very cool find! Thanks for this. It says that the ad company worked with the developers to create the levels, along with animators (which shows in the heavy metal mullet planet) and typographers (which especially shows in the awesome print campaign (http://www.thinkmeetsdo.com/c_p_lbp.html)). So you could look at these as Mm-collaborations. They do have a fantastic look. Certainly more chaotic than Mm's levels, but that chaos is what I love about the levels in these ads. the gameplay is almost arbitrary, as the levels are just completely crazy, chaotic, full of energy. | 2009-08-21 22:53:00 Author: Teebonesy Posts: 1937 |

Interesting information. I was actually kinda suprised to find out that it wasn't just Mm that did the ads, but I'm not very knowledgeable about behind-the-scenes stuff in advertising. Also, those print ads are VERY cool. | 2009-08-22 22:03:00 Author: lk9988 Posts: 1077 |
All the levels created for the advertising were then uploaded to the LittleBIGPlanet server on the PlayStation Network and users were invited to play through the advertisements, which they have done in the thousands. I don't remember this? Is it true? | 2009-08-23 15:06:00 Author: Leather-Monkey Posts: 2266 |
I don't remember this? Is it true? I know!! What gives! I could never find those levels when I searched them out. Maybe they were deleted for some reason? Maybe the PSN username account that published those levels was deleted? The closest I ever came was playing YOUR (awesome) recreation of the heavy metal mullet planet! | 2009-08-23 22:44:00 Author: Teebonesy Posts: 1937 |
Lol thanks. I'm glad they didn't published the HMMP one actually, it would have killed my level. I'm going to reply to them and ask about this. | 2009-08-28 21:16:00 Author: Leather-Monkey Posts: 2266 |
