What Needs Improvement:

.Currently you can't make holes in objects because the game has an automatic fillbucket which fills in holes automatically. Instead of being automatic, fillbucket should be a tool instead

.Currently you can only paint or place shapes to a grid. Instead you should be able to turn off/edit the size of the grid like you can do in LBP PS3

Description of pod and stuff from B-Coli from LBPforum:

The pod is a LOT different. It's like you see it from a distance, you cannot "go inside" it really. On the side of the pod you can see a "totem pole" sort of with, I believe 4 sections. One was for costumes and if you clicked on it , it took you to a small square box with a big red button on the side to exit costume edit mode. I did not see create mode at all, not sure if it was deactivated or just not unlocked or what. I wanted to let other people het a chance to play.

Updated with videos and screens and the full theme list. They should honestly use the australian tribe guy from comic con though, the new ones body is useless as a sticker while the comic con ones hands, face and feet can be used for all kinds of stuff.2009-08-21 18:57:00

I wish some of the graphics looked better. Some of them are so ugly its annoying. Besides that everything looks great. No multiplayer is a shame. I hope they patch it if they find a way to implement it or get more development time or seomthing. Two new themes wouldn't go amiss though, Britain anyone?2009-08-21 20:46:00

On the EU playstation blog there is a devolop intervew, its pretty interesting. Shame they havent solved the multiplayer problem(sry i keep saying that)2009-08-23 21:25:00

The release date is probably Novemeber 20. Because the interview say November and on play.com it says november 20. I'll probably campaign to change the tribe guy lol2009-08-26 19:57:00

Interviews has been posted by CVG and Playstation Blog.

Heres CVG:
http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=221772

Heres PS blog:
http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2009/08/21/sackboy-meets-his-maker/

Also, look in one of the videos(its one of the australian levels) and you'll see that we'll get built in visibility tweaking, because the kangaroo doesn't have a visible mouth anymore(it did look better with one though D: ). This probly means we have all the creator pack stuff built in(in an e3 video there's a cordless jetpack).

In CVG intervew it says that you can't turn grid off or make shape with hole in(theres automatic fillbucket). This might make create real clunky. So they should give option to turn of or change grid size(like ps3) and fillbucket should be a new tool instead(that'd be amazing)

There are some new screens on gamespot. They show a boat section, a dragon and other stuff.

I've found a new video, even though the guy's bad at it, it reveals a new area, 'The Cave of Dreams.' The last level of the Australia theme.

They really need to change the tribe guy from this:

Thanks for that vid.
While it doesn't really show much in terms of gameplay, I recognized all thoughs skins, so it looks like we might have the same costumes as the PS3 version (well, give or take, plus the new stuff&apos.

also the names of the australian levels:
1. Walkabout
2. Gift of the Grab
3. Cave of Dreams(?)

From LBPforum.net. Contains info on how the pod works and stuff(sorry for double post).

It is actually pretty easy to pick up and play, but the menus take a second to get used to and there is a different intro movie , The pod is different, set up like a totem pole... I will try and get some footage of it, but it is really hard to shoot in there, kinda crowded
I got some ok footage with a macro lens so you could see the different faces and poses with the directional pad , hope you enjoy.

Found a video showcasing new footage of the Chinese themed level! It's really blurry, but look closely and you can make out a chase scene with a dragon, a cannon, a temple and an NPC.

So anybody have any idea when this demo is coming out? I've heard several rumors that it will be out either this week or the next. And the Australian, Chinese, and European worlds look awesome And I'm glad they still have ad-hoc mode, both of my brothers are getting this game aswell It's also a huge relief to finally know the official release date for the U.S. I've heard SO many possible dates already. Thanks for the info, guys! 2009-10-06 16:41:00

Thanks for the info, guys! You know how retailers had a release date for October 30, then changed it to 20th November(in the UK) that could be the demo release date. Ad-hoc mode is level sharing, so it could be possible to make a level and send it to someone else so they can work on it.2009-10-06 17:04:00

I don't know if there will be a tongue, but some of the screenshots on the newest Sack It To Me has the new happiest face (you can see it on the one where he is standing in front of the Studio Cambridge symbol and the close-up on him).

Other news: When I was flipping through the costumes, I saw the Kratos costume.

Let me see if I can remember anything else from playing it. On one of the days of Comic Con, it had a lot more levels unloked and create mode unlocked (I guess it was an expanded version to show off to interviewers and they left it on by mistake).

The blue wireframe costume returns, and I think the glowing eyes and the rest of that costume was there too. I also remember seeing all of the dinosaur costume and the green checkerboard felt skin.

The last level of the China levels has you retrieving the dragon's eggs from the theme's Creator. All of the switches on this demo were visable, but based on some of the puzzles, you should be able to make them invisable in the final version of this game. Also, I remember that that theme had a minigame involving two dragons, but I forgot what to do in it.

I think the third theme is called the Market. It has an Egyptian/Middle Eastern background and the first level has you chasing a monkey that stole a lamp.

Create mode was the same except it then asked you if you would like to make the object scenery or physics-based. I guess this option means that there is no more dark matter. I didn't learn much more because the game crashed when I tried to paint the material.

I believe that will be possible to turn off the auto-fill based on some of the trailers. You can clearly see hollowed out objects in some of the scenes.

Were the graphics good?(Not 3d/texture wise but the character/theme design). Also, visibility tweak is confirmed as in one of the videos a character speaks with no visible magic mouth

The levels were very good. In fact, I liked the mini games on this one better then most of the mini games on the PS3 version.

The graphics were good, but I didn't think the gas and fire effects were pretty.

I am not sure if they have changed this, but on the demo, you could not sticker sides of objects.

Ok, well hopefully that won't make it into the game then. One one hand it would add an interesting twist, but on the other hand it would limit what Sackboy can do. For example, no being flung from spinning wheels, no springboards, etc. I'll just keep my fingers crossed that the demo you played was simply "squishing" Sackboy due to a bug from the long drop.2009-10-20 03:16:00

I do like that you can make an object scenery or physics-based. That will do wonders for the thermometer I'm sure.2009-10-20 03:21:00

I hope with making materials act like dark matter, that they don't take up as much thermo like dark matter on the PS3. Then we can make some long levels and still make it look good!

Only thing I'm a little down on for the PSP is there's no way to record levels without the use of custom firmware. (something I want to avoid) Well i think there might be a way involving the cable you can use to project your PSP on your TV, and attach a capture card from there. But 2 problems for me on that, is thats gonna be tough, plus i think you need an HDTV to project PSP games, which i don't have...Please correct me on any of this if i'm wrong.

Nope, I have one of those cables (for the PSP-2000/3000, so I am not sure about the Go cable) and it is a component cable, so it will work with any TV. I will use mine a lot while playing this game.

There are a few AV out cable options for the Go, including a standard 3-plug RCA style connector which isn't available (or possible) with the 2000/3000. Of course the 3-plug setup will work on basically any TV manufactured in the last 20 years.

On a slightly different topic, does anyone have a recommendation for a cheap, simple, and/or basic video capture setup that will work with a laptop (i.e., USB)? Video capture would be nice, but still screen capture is really all I'm looking for.

Taffey is right, if you buy a cable for your PSP-2000/3000 make sure it has five plugs. I wasted my money on a 3-plug one that only seemed to be able to display the menu before getting a five plug one that allows you to play games. Also, I think there is the slightest delay in the audio. Nothing big, but enough to mess you up when you are playing Patapon.

Does anyone know if there is an option to make your own in-game pictures? They might have an export to Memory stick option if they do.

I can't tell by the screenshots so far, but I am pretty sure that there are two half planes between actual planes.

Now I remember I originaly had a 5 cable one, but it didn't work, either I was clueless on how to do it (and must've thought it didn't work cause its not HDTV).

Also for the TV downstairs (where my PS3 and Capture card is) I had to attach a RFU converter (or whatever its called, curse my memory, that TV has only one hole, and the converter made it 3, with the red, yellow and white holes)

Video out using the 3-plug cable with my Go works great, including playing games. I've been playing Gran Turismo PSP on my full size TV this way for the past couple weeks. Add to the mix the Go's ability to use a PS3 Bluetooth controller, and it's just like having another console.

So anyway, in-game still and video capture should be a snap, provided of course you have a Go and the proper screen capture setup.

Those are some of the main reasons I wanted the Go, but in the end I just did not have enough money to get it, so I just bought a 16 gb memory stick.

I do not know if my PSP cable will work with a non-widescreen TV, since I have not tried it. I will test it out later today to see if it works.

EDIT: Works just fine, but I think I see where you messed up. Go to the connected display settings on the main menu of the PSP, make sure it is set to progressive scan.

Also, a five plug plug converter will only work with 5-holed input. I am not sure if they make a converter for that, but if you want to search for one I believe the 5-holed input is called a D-terminal.

Could you add some info about the merchandise to the front page? Like how there is a PSP case for 1000-3000 coming out with a plush sackboy, or that there is going to be a strategy book that contains walkthroughs for both the PSP version and the GOTY version.2009-11-02 00:57:00

For those of you interested I collected all the impressions of the PSP version of people who played it at the Eurogamer Expo and summarised them here (http://www.littlebigland.com/little-big-planet-news/lbp-psp-impressions/). 2009-11-02 12:47:00

Yeah, I got the same impressions when I played it. I didn't get to do create mode very much (I was playing on an early version and it crashed after I tried to lay something down). I can always go back and cut out the holes I need. Do you know if the corner editing tool is locked to the grid also?

Down to 2 weeks!

I'm guessing (sad but true) people on the interent are gonna wind up pirating it and uploading vids of it before the real thing comes out, which will wind up posted on LBPC. If this does happen, its probably gonna be as bad as the whole leaked water video incident.

Oh by the way (hoping this doesn't lead the thread off topic again on connecting PSP's to TV's )

I finally figured out why games couldn't work on my TVs (which was why i couldn't record). On PSP 2000's, Composite cables (the 3 plug one) won't work for playing games on TVs (and most capture cards and TV's can only use Composite). But my Dazzle could also use S-Video cables as well. So I could either import a S-Video PSP Cable (they're only available in Europe) or get a PSP 3000 (all cables will work on TVs, and Capture Cards). I decided to go with the latter, since my old PSP, has gotten quite a beaten over the years (UMD drive makes loud noisees when running), and I could keep the old PSP as a backup or give it to my brother for Christmas.

But now I'm all set up to record LBP PSP videos
I did a sample video to test out the quality

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hhegefgBolU

Are we gonna have Community Spotlights for the PSP too?

Cool! BTW, how easy is it to install and use a capture card? I am thinking that I might get one eventually.

Installing it on the computer is a cinch, just like how some flash drives have software for running it. Connecting it to the system is the tricky part, cause you gotta get a whole bunch of connecters, cables and Y-adapters. And it seems there's a bunch of ways too. But the general idea is to have a Y-adapter split it up so there's 3 paths: 1 goes to the Capture Card (which is attached to the PC or laptop), 1 to the TV, and 1 to the Game system (for the PSP you can just plug it the PSP cable directly to the Capture Card, but some software that comes with the capture card only has it on a very tiny screen, so you are better off just connecting it like how i mentioned above with the 3 way)

And it seems there are many types of these cables used so if you don't watch it you might waste money. Try watching a bunch of Youtube videos and see (thats what I did, but i watched a whole lot to get it all right)

Okay I think I've said enough (don't want to drive this thread off topic again)

Perhaps I'll add a thread in the tutorials section bout capture cards in the future (can i do that?)

PSP is the easiest to capture, you can do it with a USB cable and everything else is software.

You'll need to be on M33 or some other custom firmware though.
