My in progress Bioshock level
Archive: 9 posts
Since im tired of working on my bioshock level for today, i decided it was time a put some pictures up, so you guys could see how im doing ![]() ![]() here's my plane, it's not very good XD but it's very functional, the plane flies across the whole map in 30 seconds, before it starts falling apart and crashes into the ocean. oh and the plane has it's own global light setting to simulate night time http://img19.imageshack.us/img19/701/aphoto6.jpg Here's the ocean, im thinking i might add some stuff to the bottom of it, like geografic features, instead of it being flat XD but it does have a lot of functionality. when the plane crashes into the water waves spawn at the top and start going up and down, theres a lot of sounds in the water and it has it's own global light setting http://img13.imageshack.us/img13/576/aphoto5.jpg Here's the stairs leading into the light house, i made the power-up remover look like a street lamp XD works out quite nicely actually. http://img19.imageshack.us/img19/1622/aphoto4.jpg here's the inside of the lighthouse, when the light setting is on, it's pitch black inside. as you can see it's got a lot of permanet switches laying around ![]() down on the second floor theres a few lights which activate as you walk past them, just like in the game. right now there's nothing down the bathysphere shaft except for the system that moves the bathyspere. im thinking i might expand the lighthouse more downwards, and make another staircase right under the first one. i might also add some of the plates on the wall from the game. http://img515.imageshack.us/img515/9272/aphoto3.jpg more switches laying around ![]() http://img19.imageshack.us/img19/3666/aphoto2a.jpg and here's what's making the bathysphere move, it's not very advances XD it's basically a invisible rubber platform, attached to the bathyshpere, then some pistons attached to said platform to move it up and down, then some more invisble rubber tubes attached to the cart in the picture below, so it can move sideways. http://img527.imageshack.us/img527/511/aphoto1.jpg heres the part after the bathyshpere part, yes i have'nt made the part of the city the bathyshpere passes by yet ![]() ![]() http://img19.imageshack.us/img19/4601/aphotod.jpg The stairs in the proper light settings, im thinking i might add some fog to it. http://img41.imageshack.us/img41/8764/aphoto9w.jpg The bottom of the stairs, unfortunately it wouldn't let me take a picture of the whole thing, so you can't see the lights ![]() http://img233.imageshack.us/img233/6502/aphoto10.jpg I was supposed to have a few more pictures XD but i forgot to export them to the HDD, i'll do it tomorrow ![]() Thanks a lot for the hlelp with the head guys, it allowed me to create this ![]() ![]() http://img41.imageshack.us/img41/4504/aphoto8f.jpg Woot woot, the first screens from the bathyphere part ![]() http://img41.imageshack.us/img41/2300/aphoto12z.jpg and that's as far as i've gotten on my first level ![]() ![]() Oh and, most of the materials are merely placeholders ![]() edit: OK pictures fixed ![]() Edit 2: more pictures ![]() | 2009-08-19 19:43:00 Author: Comet Wolf ![]() Posts: 99 |

I'm waiting for water myself ![]() The head is a story item from the collectors den thingy, the one before the final boss. | 2009-08-19 22:18:00 Author: Shermzor ![]() Posts: 1330 |
Looks good so far, especially the stairs leading into the lighthouse. I'll have to play it when it's finished. ![]() | 2009-08-20 11:37:00 Author: Unknown User ![]() |
Looking good man, but you should really wait till the Water comes to littlebigplanet, real water is way better than moving blue glass ![]() | 2009-08-20 12:14:00 Author: Kn0cked-0ut ![]() Posts: 562 |
who what is system i am inpressed ![]() | 2009-08-20 12:26:00 Author: Unknown User ![]() |
Yes me too! Always impressed by people using such complex systems! I guess I don't have a very logic mind... An as said, you should wait for the water release! ![]() | 2009-08-20 12:41:00 Author: dajdaj03 ![]() Posts: 1486 |
Th head is the male doll head with a yelloy stick, quite effective actually. The part you built with Johnny being killed, is this just more Bathysphere scenery? How far are you going to go with it? Medical pavilion would be a good place for the scoreboard, since that's where the demo ends and seems most logical. Speaking of logic, you seem to be usisng a lot and it may take it's toll on the thermo, how much thermo have you used so far? Nice work so far, if you're going to make a big daddy, an led with some rods connected across it as a grill makes a nice Rosie style helmet porthole. Keep up the good work! | 2009-08-20 13:16:00 Author: croissantbuncake ![]() Posts: 572 |
So far i've used about half of the thermo, i know i can make most of my logic a bit simpler, most of it is just permanent switches anyway ![]() what i'm basically working on right now is the city that the bathysphere passes by while it's underwater. I know i should wait for the water, but for now i'd rather just do the glass, when the water comes along i'll just swap it with the glass, shouldn't be too hard. | 2009-08-20 14:05:00 Author: Comet Wolf ![]() Posts: 99 |
