Dudes... I am SOOOOO stoked!!!! I just got a PSN message from Blorf (known here as Risen but hasn't been active for a while) that he has a level on the Game of the Year Edition!!!!!! Now..... you may be thinking "So What? A bunch of great creators have levels on that disc". Here's what makes this so special: This is a HIGHLY underrated creator. He has only had 1 serious level (Metal Revolution), and it's ratings got slammed when it became an MM pick. It's a 3 star rated level with 600-700 plays on it, and Blorf himself hasn't even achieved the creator trophy (I think he has 20 something hearts). So... why am I so excited? a) Metal Revolution is one of my all-time favorite levels. It's absolutely brilliant, and every inch was well-thought-out... but it suffers because of the "too hard for LittleBigPlanet" mentality. b) He's the first one to ever send me a friend request. c) He was the primary tester on Splat Invaders Saga when I released it way back when. So, this gives me a lot of faith in MM that they looked beyond straight creator popularity and picked someone who's an amazing engineer and doesn't compromise when it comes to creating content that's beyond the general LBP player. I'm DEFINATELY picking up a copy!

Awesome! It's good to see that Mm dont discriminate popularity from talent. I'll have to check out this guys stuff! On another note, i wonder if the creators for the GOTY edition will be allowed to fiddle about with the upcoming features before anyone else? Due to release dates.

I'm kinda confused with this whole, 18 Creators levels thing. Is it levels they've already created or are they creating something special for the GOTY that only GOTY buyers can play??

Metal Revolution is pure genious. I'm happy for Blorf, as for the others since they get paid, and I'm sure they deserve it. I'm absolutely not happy for me until they solve this "exclusive" situation.

Brand new original levels produced for this collection. Blorf sent me a PSN message last night that said "Hey.. you wanted to play my next level when I was done..." then a 2nd message came in "It's on the Game of the Year Edition!" Drama! I like it!

Johnees new one is probably on there. And i expect Geosautus was asked... Are they only going to be on the disc?? Published freely? DLC pack?

dunno yet man. the guys involved have said they'll more than likely be released to everyone but no one seems to know when, or if it's definitely the case.

It says they're 'exclusive' to GOTY so we aren't getting them anytime soon if at all. This all stinks as far as I'm concerned as it sets a terrrible precedent for the future of LBP. It hints very strongly that Sony are up to their usual tricks and are going to start charging us for user created levels much more in future. Sony aren't just going to give us levels they paid a lot of money for,and it must be A LOT because none of the jammy creators will tell us how much !!

Or it could be a pitance, but their contractual obligations prevent them from disclosing such information. I do think this is kinda bad that it's exclusive to certain regions though. But then, meh, I've still got thousands of other great levels to play, so I don't really care.

I would be VERY surprised if, soon after the disc release, they didn't add it as DLC.... but yes, we will most likely have to pay either way. But my point on this thread was that Blorf was one of them, and I'm totally excited, first of all because I thought he had stopped creating, and second of all because it shows that MM can look beyond LBP popularity (which is mostly kids) and see a hidden talented creator.

Hi, all! Wow, thank you! I appreciate the kind words. Yes, I've been inactive here recently but I still lurk. I can answer some questions for certain: - The GOTY creators didn't get access to anything new. All of the GOTY levels were created with the exact same in-game editor that everyone else has. I want to emphasize this: NO SPECIAL TOOLS. Heck, I'm not even in the Online Create beta. (*grumble grumble* ... heh) - These are ALL NEW levels, not something that has been published before. They were specifically commissioned for this project. You will not find them anywhere else. MM still has the option of releasing them elsewhere if they want to, but they haven't disclosed any plans to me to do so. One place you will probably never find my level is by doing a search on LBP for my PSN. - rtm223 is correct, we're under obligation not to disclose financial details. If you liked Metal Revolution, you're going to like Beavercows' Insomnia (my GOTY level). It's definitely better than MR in a number of areas. It plays really well, it's very pretty, and there are definitely secrets and surprises to be found. There are some puzzle elements not entirely unlike MR. There's a lot of replay value in it, too. I had a ton of fun building it, and I'm really excited for its release.
