5,000 Character Limit (PM)

Archive: 4 posts

I regularly write very detailed feedback on other forum member's levels for them, and send it to them via PMs. Every time I write feedback, it ends up in the 6,000-9,000 character range. Splitting the message into two posts in itself is hardly an issue, but do it several times and you find your sent message box is loaded and suddenly you have no room left. The simple answer would be to just delete the messages, but I like to keep records of the feedback I give people, which I think is a fair request. So all I ask is that the limit is bumped up to something in the ballpark of 10,000 characters. I can understand if this request is denied for spam/space saving/clutter/etc reasons, but there is nothing wrong with just asking. 2009-08-19 02:31:00

Sorry, but I think your situation is too purpose-specific to warrant a site-wide change. 5,000 characters is a lot of room - if you find yourself needing more PM space, consider using your XP to buy one of the three feature bundles (http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/xperience.php?go=shop&cat=3) we offer. You even have enough to afford the Ultimate Bundle, which upgrades your PM space to 250 messages.2009-08-19 02:36:00

In my sudden need for space I completely forgot about how the world doesn't revolve around me. If nobody else has an issue with the limit, then I guess I'll just have to cope with it for now. I'm not quite ready to part with my precious XP just yet, I have bigger plans for it.

Thanks for the quick replay and your input on the matter.

Are you working from a computer? If so, I tend to use note pad alot for storage of text. Since it's not an issue of authentication, I can see cut-and past working for you.2009-08-21 16:57:00
