Simultaneous Grab Switch?

Archive: 5 posts

Ok, I'm having a dumb moment here. I could of sworn I have made a grab switch before that activates only when two different grab switches are held at same time.

This is the only remaining thing I need help with related to the project I'm working on in my sig. In multiplayer vs there are two start blocks (the block grabbed to begin the game), one for each player's side of the grid. I spent at least 2 hours or so today just trying to figure out how to make it so that both blocks of grabbable material have to be held to begin the game so that no one can cheat and have a head start. I could of sworn it was one of the gates, but I tried all and tweaking the settings and there was always a problem. Maybe it is a gate and I just didn't set everything up right.

I know this is simple and thought I've done this before, but now I can't figure it out.

Need an AND gate.

Attach each grab switch to a piston with a block of glass on it set in a shaft off screen.
Make the grab switches directional, and one of them inverted (trial and error here for which one).
Place your mag switch on one glass block and the key on the other, then tweak the pistons so that when they are both fully extended, the two glass blocks meet in the middle. As such:

Thanks you two. I thought it was an AND gate which was the first gate I tried.

But no wonder I couldn't get it working, I only messed with On/Off and One Shot settings. I completely ignored Directional. *hand to forehead* lol ^o^

Most people find in time that after creating a lot, especially logic, the directional setting ends up becoming your best friend, closely followed by One-Shot.

Speed is great for randomizers and ramping up difficulty.
