With the new PS3 Slim being 120 gigs compared to my 40 gigs, and my brother wanting a PS3 more for blu Ray then for games, we were thinking of switching our PS3s. However, I was curious as to how to get save data from my 40 gig to his new PS3 Slim's 120 gig. I tried searching on playstation.com, but no help there for move save data... so yeah, how could one switch save data more easily? <_>

plug a USB in and got to 'system settings' then 'backup'. It'll copy everything. Then got to restore on your new PS3. Voila! Actually dunno if this'll work moving actual console, i did it to upgrade mah hard drive... it's worth a try.

woah, unless he has used only 8GB or something I think he'll need some other kind of storage to back up the whole thing and well, he only asked for savegames =P @rabid: keep in mind that the slim doesn't have card readers...that excludes things like memory sticks.

I know, by now its safe to assume that a ps3 does not have card readers considering the features been out for 2 years now. However a card will work if it is in a device that connrcts by usb like all PSP's (except the go i think that has its own cable.)

If you have any external storage around you can use that to back up your saves. Thumb drive. External Hard Drive PSP I POD (aparently) Digital camera might work.
