New PSP video showing create!

Archive: 13 posts

The Sack it to Me on the Playstation blog contains a new video for LBP PSP. When first posted it was just the E3 trailer, but it's been fixed.

It shows some great gameplay and reveals a bit of create! Also, check out Sackboy's hands at one part (forget where) - they get bigger when he punches o_0

They solved the controll problem great. The movie level and football minigame look unique. There also seems to be a balloon like in Jump buttons level2009-08-18 18:29:00

Awesome how it looks like all the tools (the main ones not the create pack and MGS pack, I'll bet that'll be DLC) from the PS3 will be on there2009-08-18 18:54:00

The graphics could use more refinement but it looks real solid. The tribe guy for the outback keeps changing though. I like the one from the comic con video best2009-08-18 19:24:00

Anyone notice some of the functionality in create mode though? Sackboy outlined the leaves for a tree and it filled in the hollow section. And on ign (or kotaku, i dunno which) there was an article that said you can set individual items to "static" so when you're done editing them, that specific item won't move, instead of having to pause the entire level.2009-08-24 04:10:00

0:51 Punching Sackboy?
1:04 Giggling Sackboy?
1:09 Karate Sackboy?

I'm just not sure what to think of all this. I like the choice of music though, and it looks like they've done well recreating the create in PSP. I wonder how small the thermometers will have to be for it to work.

the actions replace hand and head movement. i read an interview that you cant make objects with hole in(create mode has automatic fillbucket) or turn grid off. this migt make create real clunky. i think they should give you the option to turn grid off or change grid size like ps3. fillbucket should be a new tool and not automatic(this would open up tons of possibilities)2009-08-30 14:43:00

I'm loving LBP on the PSP! That trailer just made me want it even more! I wonder if the PSP version will contain water?2009-09-01 00:01:00

I seriously doubt it'll have water ever, and if so, definitely won't ship with water. The problem with water for the ps3 was largely it's complex physics and fitting that into the game's physics system, so it they had a hard time getting it to work with the ps3, somehow I suspect it may not even be possible on psp...2009-09-01 01:48:00
