PlayStation Network Down For Maintenance http://cache.gawker.com/assets/images/9/2009/08/500x_psnfixing.jpg Sony threw a little notice up on their support site overnight, letting everyone know that the PlayStation Network will be down for a couple of hours on August 18. Say, isn't that the day of Sony's GamesCom press conference? My, it is. The outage is expected to commence at 9am PST, August 18 in the US, which in Germany is 6pm on August 18. Say, isn't that the exact time Sony's Gamescom press conference kicks off? My, it is. There have been countless rumours of major new additions being made to the PSN in the coming months; looks like we could well be seeing the first of those tomorrow. via Kotaku (http://kotaku.com/5339495/psn-down-for-maintenance-during-sonys-gamescom-press-conference) Stay updated folks, PSN will be down today, and XMB 3.0 will most likely launch later tonight! Wow psn is down?! I thought the big announcement was LBP related but this sounds even bigger I don't know what XMB 3 is but i love the current one so it can only get better, or maybe the European store will get a massive surge of content so we can keep up to date with the US store!!

I do hope they allow us to do that recording ingame that they said it could do. My only advice is after it comes back on check the ps store because one maybe new games and two when something as big as psn goes down for maintenance your almost guarenteed it will have some small kinks afterwoods. Everything might be free

Well, this XMB 3.0 sounds like an improvement, just because it has 3.0 at the end of it. Maybe they'll somehow let us listen to music in all our games from the XMB instead of just a select few... I highly doubt it, but it would be cool, no?

I'm getting quite annoyed at always having to say this.

I was just saying maybe they'll release some kind of firmware thing that just overrides all that so we can listen to music no matter what.
