Hello,

Really great stuff here. I was impressed to see what someone could do with just one type of sticker. My favorite image was the butterfly kiss one that you made. It reminded me of the graffiti you see of the two people kissing in Watchmen.

I have one huge suggestion though. Move the speech mouth things next to the pictures rather than underneath them. By placing the mouths under the painting, you can't clearly view them without the bubble in the way even after you have closed it.

Other than that, great job on you stuff.

As for the f4f, I would appreciate if you took a gander at my level "The Adventures of the Prince: Chapter 1 The Attack". The link to my thread can be found by clicking on my signature.

http://i612.photobucket.com/albums/tt210/swanbrown/utility/swanbullets.jpg I absolutely love the bamboo grove with the little falling orbs - very nice indeed!

http://i612.photobucket.com/albums/tt210/swanbrown/utility/swanbullets.jpg Just at the end of the grove, you've got a really noticeable seam in the grass. As Luck would have it, you have a rock right next to it in the front layer that can be moved over to hide it.

http://i612.photobucket.com/albums/tt210/swanbrown/utility/swanbullets.jpg The rock embedded in the ground just after the bridge - Same deal. A little mossy shaped thing to hide where the seam reaches all the way down, or even, extend the base of the tree next to it to look like a root. there are other instances of this, so I'll just say go through and check your seams. It really helps a level look smooth.

http://i612.photobucket.com/albums/tt210/swanbrown/utility/swanbullets.jpg In the forest with the house, all the fine craft is hidden in gloom. You can set the mood with-out sacrificing visibility with darkness, time of day, and fog color. And also, some out-of-view colored lights set dim with higher radius. Your are the artist, here, so you should set the lighting. You can't depend on the player to put your level in the most flattering light.

http://i612.photobucket.com/albums/tt210/swanbrown/utility/swanbullets.jpg The elevator: If some one goes too high and jumps down, they have to restart to see the rest and finish. My suggestion is to attach an invisible chain to the handle and the wall of the elevator, then connect it to a proximity switch on the bottom floor. That way, if some one is down-stairs, next to the shaft, the chain will pull the switch into the "down" position.

http://i612.photobucket.com/albums/tt210/swanbrown/utility/swanbullets.jpg I like how you give the player a choice in collecting stickers, or not.

I didn't comment on the actual art in this critique because it's highly subjective. I loved it all and was super-impressed!

In return, could you checkout Gradient Studio Utility (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=t=14333)? It's one of my F4F levels, even though, it's not a level per se.

I noticed you asking advice on F4F in another thread:

When you give feed-back, Try to say somthing a little more usefull than "yor lvl ROCKS!". Feel free to say that, if you want, but elaborate a little on why. I try to find at least one thing that could be improved in my opinion. I can be pretty long-winded, so my feed-back is not a great example.

hope that helps

Well...I'm a former art student so I really appreciated the aesthetic value of this level. There were some fantastic pieces in your gallery, and it's clear that you have a great talent for this sort of thing. If I had to choose favorites, I think I'd pick Spider Man and the Half Creature Set, which were both real creepy. I also liked how you included a blank space for the "visitor" to create their own art work. The temptation was too much for me to resist, so I stopped a while to make a samurai head out of Athena statue stickers!

On the downside I think the architecture of your gallery isn't up to scratch with the quality of your display pieces, which is a shame because if you worked a little more on the overall presentation of the level I think you'd get more credit from the community. You must have some thermo left to play with, so you should try and use it.

However, I thought that the quality and originality of the artwork, as well as the huge effort that must have gone into creating it deserved a 5 star rating, so that's what I gave. Any plans to gradually expand the level as you create more "paintings", or are you finished with this project now?

why does every one think the first set is mine i gave credit to the original creator squirlin he creatyed the first set that was my initial inspiration true i do have plenty of thermometer left but im saving building up the architecture for when i have more pieces more pieces more floors when i reach 5 floors ill work on the final architecture and begin a second level and once more the first ones in the intro are not mine maybe i should make another note on that in the update2009-08-19 21:37:00

A very Inspiring level, I tried a bit, for myself, though it didn't get very good.

How do you handle the max sticker thing? it always stopped me after some time.

just be efficient try to maximize the most out of your stickers instead of using 3 stickers use 1 big one then if you still need more try taking o few of being that you've probably completely over lapped a few that are no longer necessary2009-08-26 20:17:00
